Only been to London, for a day, and a friend recommended this pub. Decided on a Sunday roast, not being into some veg, I asked for a change, not a problem. Very enjoyable meal, well cooked, and well priced. Very good portion size, coupled with very friendly service.

If you want a good boozer, with a good atmosphere, excellent beers and good staff — then this is a great spot. Very easy access with the tube station literally over the road and just a great vibe. Thoroughly recommend it.

A wealth of lovely gastro pubs in the area means there aren’t that many plain and simple good boozers left. The White Hart, the Goldhawk and the Askew just three of the latest casualties within a 10 minute walk of each other. The Raven straddles gastro and boozer very nicely. It certainly isn’t haute cuisine. Simple pub fa here. Burgers, chips, sarnies. But the quality of my beef sarnie and chips was most pleasing, as was the misses chicken burger and the boy’s hamburger. All carefully made but with no frills and a price to match. What’s great about the place though is its higgledy piggledy nature. It is placed right by the district line, under the bridge that crosses the Goldhawk Rd and that somehow adds to the charm. The pub cat slips and slides around the floor in between enjoying bouts of warm fire and there are plenty of nooks and crannies to go and hide yourself and get slowly drunk. Not that we did that of course. We’re responsible parents. We went on an afternoon in between christmas and new year and it was quiet but this didn’t detract from a tasty lunch and a good chat to the friendly landlady. I can imagine when it’s full its a great place to hang out with all those bits to explore. Sick of the gastro bollocks but can’t deal with the shithole nature of the coningham or the British queen? The Raven could well be your pub.

Came on New Year’s Eve. Folks played a bit of posh dressup which was fun /nice to see, felt a bit glam 1960s, especially with the live band. Great music — band was super young and energetic and very talented. Cute to see. Mix of old school rock and roll, funk, jazz. Fun to dance and listen to. Drummer was especially good. Friendly barstaff. Free food and even more importantly, free bacon sandwiches! With salty delicious chips. Men’s bathroom kept wafting terrible smells out to the rest of the bar every time the door opened — recommend some strong air freshener and a vent fan in there to spare the bar!

Great for pub lunch. My office mates and I stopped by for a pub lunch(to appease me missing American Thanksgiving), and had a great time! The owners, waiters & waitresses are all very friendly and accommodating and there’s a cute room in the back where you can eat on cozy couches. I had the veggie burger and it was FULL of veggies — not over-processed and unrecognizable ones — real ones! I chose mash over chips and was slightly disappointed in that choice — the chips that others had were good, but the mash was a little dry. Everyone had something different and we were pleased all around. I’ll definitely be back for a drink and quiz/curry night!

If you’re local to Stamford Brook or wandering through Ravenscourt Park on the weekend, check out their awesome Sunday Roast Buffet. Sometimes they replace it with a mouthwatering meat and seafood BBQ. Either way, if you’re in the area The Raven does THE best Sunday recovery and comfort dinner in the area! Yup naturally I’m a big fan because it’s my local. Love their very large projector screen shows is great for football or rugby, which is perfect. NBF happy and I get to use their speedy free wifi and read the papers. Everyone’s a winner. If I get bored of working from home or need a lunchtime treat, their outdoor garden area is brilliant for tapping on laptop and grabbing a few rays of sunshine to brighten the afternoon. Service normally okay and for any singles, nights seem to be full of lovely, sexy interesting guys and gals who are often happy to chat. I’m a fan. Hats off to my fave local The Raven.

This was once a pub… now add the letter P to once… get it??? This place is rubbish and full of rich kids and South Africans… truly characterless pretentious overpriced rubbish. Awesome and Jack Wills? God help us!

This place is awesome. We opted to eat at the Raven on a whim and were not disappointed. There are a number of delicious tapas on the eclectic menu. We ahd the calamari, chorizo bruschetta and«fat chips»(extra chunky french fries). I was really impressed with my entrée-papardelle pasta w eggplant and fresh mozzarella in the most amazing tomato sauce. I was so full and wanted to continue eating. My companion loved his fish and chips. The only draw back was that the fish filet still had the skin attached when it was battered. I’m not sure if that’s a UK standard but it was kinda gross to us. They had a nice selection of wines which seemed reasonably priced. If you’re in the neighborhood, pop into this place for sure.

This pub is just plain strange but absolutely wonderful… it’s directly opposite Stamford Brook Tube, from the outside looks very small but inside goes a long way back with a big telly for sports. I’ve have had a few after work/pre going out drinks here and it never fails to throw up an incredible character or two… the bar staff are pretty grumpy in the way that only travelling New Zealanders who are missing the South Island can be but when required can be friendly and even amusing… it’s the clientele that makes this place… if ever you’re in the area pop in for a pint… I promise you won’t be disappointed… its a throw back to another age… they do food… quite a nice menu but have never eaten here.

6 Months ago The Raven was full(well not full actually) of old men drinking ale and swearing. Now of a wednesday night it’s full of nubile young things that look like they ran through Jack Wills wearing velcro underwear. this is unconfirmed, however, as i didn’t get anywhere near said underwear. Anywho, this historical venue now welcomes all types of patrons into an environment that really mixes vintage and modern really well. There’s sofas, a small but eclectic and tasty menu, live comedy and music all presented in a low ceiling, exposed beams cries of yesteryear cave of a pub. This is all thanks to a chap called Hugo who took it over and made it into… well a pub that’s nice to go to! Thanks Hugo!

Wonderful food, and a decent wine list, but I was wearing the apple crumble as it was way too crumbly. I’m also not a fan of the entrée/dessert prix fixe, as I usually don’t eat dessert. Still, a comfortable spot with a large heated area for smokers to sit(YAY!). Any place with a copy of the Stranglers’ «The Raven» LP cover on the wall cannot be bad.

The Raven is a handy little pub to know about in Chiswick, very welcoming and chilled out atmosphere with a little back garden for those rare sunny days. Drink prices are average. They do the occaisinal lock-in too, especially for local’s birthdays; the owners are up for a good time. The food is really delicious too, nothing too fancy with general tit bits and meze(recommended) and then proper pub meals like pies and burgers. Really good pub for hangovers as it is so relaxing to just lie on the sofas all day and catch up with mates.

A great little pub nestled in between Chiswick and Shepherds Bush. Jason and the guy’s always make you feel welcome here and the sunday roast is great value for money. They frequently have live bands on so it is a great place to spend a night over the weekend chilling out and having fun. Very much a local pub which is unpretentious and you will need to take it as you find it, don’t go expecting a trendy bar with polished stainless as this just isn’t it. More like beaten up old couches where you can kick back, read the paper and not have a care in the world.
