A great pub six mins walk from Clapham Common tube. Potential for a few tables of Aussies to be scattered around because #clapham = #aussiesinlondon. The beverage lineup here is excellent, full of craft beers– tap and bottles, and they do the good old popular London tap take over thing. Their wine list isn’t too shabby either– we had options that were better than the standard pub slosh that you’re usually subjected to. So big ticks all round for the booze department. Food wise, they had a kitchen take over from the cheese truck when I was there. A LOT of cheese. Not many healthy options but filling and satisfying after an afternoon on the sauce(alcohol). The pub itself has many tables and isn’t really a stand up type pub but there are corners and bar spots that you can lurch around. The décor is homely in a cool way then finished off with a beautiful copper looking top: nice. Staff seem super chilled. Sunday sessionable to the max.

Quiet pub down the road from Clapham high street. On a Tuesday it is not very crowded and there’s lots of space to sit. The music was just David Bowie when I went as it was only days after his passing. There was a decent selection of drinks and in terms of food there seemed to be different kinds of cheese based finger food. I believe they had a specific cheese based pop up residency this month so that may vary according to the time you visit. I did like the atmosphere but I think it will be better in summer when you can also sit outside. If you want to avoid the crowds in the main Clapham bars it’s a good one to look out for.

The King and Co is excellent in that it preserves a charming pub atmosphere whilst combining an incredibly high standard of food and drinks that is rarely done so well outside of London. The beers they have on both cask and keg will satisfy any budding craft beer enthusiast and having a pop-up kitchen is genius — goodbye predictable pub food, hello interesting, unique food from all over the world that changes every month. It is so rewarding to be a regular at a place where the menu changes frequently! They have some excellent music nights — my favourite being the folk duo at the end of the month, which also contain a open mic opportunity in the break which is often underused. Guitarists, go go go! They have good quiz nights and have loads of board games(pubs seem to just be throwing them out at the moment :(). A really lovely place to spend your time.

Now Since they’ve done the refurb(I’ve been informed its recent) it’s changed around a lot. Drinks: They have a lot! Including Mead — I love mead — but this is the new trendy mead that comes at a lower percentage and also carbonated… its nice to try, but not the best mead I’ve had. They also have my friends favourite beers which she has yet to find anywhere in London… I don’t drink beer, but if you like craft beer I believe this is the place. Food: So they have a pop up food stall inside — I’ve had two visits to the ghanian kitchen, and the food was really nice, high fat tasting but lovely! Incredibly pricey though for portions, would begrudge it though if you are a little more solvent than a the lowely charity worker I am. If I had the money — I would definitely order more! Great idea though, different food dependant on when you visit! That said — not particularly FODMAP friendly — garlic, in nearly everything atm — not cooked to order! Atmosphere: Very Late 20s young professionals vibe as you enter. They have board games on offer, but very informal, but sensible vibe. They have a lot of seating, and a mildly rustic vibe, but modern craft aley pub. The staff are polite, friendly and actually happy, which is a nice change. The pub quiz is fun, and isn’t full of random dates, I think i was able to answer a few questions — which almost never happens! Overall: Pretty good. Bit pricey — good young professional beer lovers quiet pub.

What a lovely pub with just the nicest staff. Wish this was in walking distance to my home, rather than a rubbish tube journey away. The only reason I even found out about it was yesterday’s amazing Unilocal event which allowed us to sample some genuine Ghanaian food from the pub’s current pop-up in residence. Apparently they invite different supper cluba to take over the pub kitchen — what an excellent concept and such a welcome change from the ubiquitous burgers and chips. But read about the food in the event review section … My friend and I decided to stay on for another glass of the delicious white wine we were served with our dinner. Potential disappointment when we first had the bar — Unilocal had depleted supplies, but the bar keeper actually went downstairs to check for more. But not before giving us tasters of a couple more whites one of which was nice, but not so sure about naturally sparkling wine from Brazil. Still, impressed with given the choice and even more so when another bottle of our favourite was unearthed.

This place is awesome. The staff were super friendly and we were looked after throughout. We’d made a reservation, but got to the bar a bit early. We hung out at the bar, and at 7pm on the dot, the waiter politely asked the couple sitting at my reserved table to move. Nice! The cocktails were good, and the food was even better. The food is done through rotating pop-up restaurants… I think it was Indonesian when I was there. The décor was comfortable and hip, without being pretentious, and the clientele seemed pretty cool. I will definitely return.
