My rating is based on the icecream which was quite good. I wouldn’t tell how far I went to try their icecream and see if I could get a job!, but I would warn you that there are two branches of the ‘icecreamist’ and I ended up at the smaller one, which didn’t have a wide variety. I found out later that the bigger branch was around the corner, thanks to the GPS I had with me. However, the staff were very nice and took time explaining the different flavours. The icecream was smooth and creamy, I think, worth the long journey.

Update: I believe this location is closed now:( The Icecreamists is a little expensive, but the ice cream is good! It is gelato style ice cream, and I’m a fan of the Ferrero Rocher flavour, although the other chocolates I tried and the hazelnut were all good. The place itself has a fun gothy vibe, although it is rather crowded. A good place to go if you’re in Covent Garden and want ice cream!

Good, but not worth the cost. £5+ for an espresso shake is a bit much, despite the premium quality. Besides, the place feels like the unholy union of a Goth strip club — which may explain why all the waitresses were basically dressed like strippers — and a Hot Topic that also happens to serve ice cream.

When in Covent Garden, go to the Icreamists. Simple words I live by. It doesn’t matter if it’s hot or cold(although far better on those rare British summer days), the flavours on offer are superb and a pleasure worth indulging in as often as possible. My personal favourite is the popcorn ice cream. Imagine rich creamy vanilla with thick decadent swirls of caramel punctuated by crunchy bits of caramel corn. Stick that on top of a waffle cone and I’m a happy guy. They have some regular-ish flavours with everything designed to enhance the feeling of gourmet luxury to make the purchase an experience rather than a quick stop at the supermarket. For your £4 you get two massive scoops atop your cone or cup on choice. You can also opt for a different flavour for each of your scoops to maximise your happiness. I went for the Ferrero Rocher and soon lost myself in day dreams of dark chocolate and hazelnuts as I lounged in the sun. The store itself is quite eye-catching and is decked out more like a sultry and seductive lady’s boudoir rather than a place for treats(although an argument could be made that treats are available at said lady’s boudoir but that’s another story). The dark walls, gold trim, silvery highlights, and glittery dust should be overwhelming gaudy, but I have to hand it to them — they make it work. The staff are very friendly and happy to help you choose, give you tasters, and generally wait patiently while you ponder the possibilities presented. All in all… get your butt out there. It’s worth the extra hour in the gym !
