Every review in London Exclaims the best Fish N Chips. This pub may have a good FNC but I didn’t try them. The atmosphere is bright and the music doesn’t lend to a traditional British Pub feel. I ordered the Mac-N-Cheese which comes with garlic bread. The garlic bread is worse than a US Walmart freezer aisle but what can you do. The Mac-N-Cheese itself was good and had a taste of garlic. Make no mistake this is no gourmet mac-n-cheese with bacon or other tasty items but a nice respite from too much Fish-N-Chips.

I ate here TWICE on a trip recently… good atmosphere & good drinks/food… I am from the US& wanted some local food to try, I had the fish & chips & the English mustard slow braised beef, both were delicious but the beef was beyond expectation! I would recommend that & a pint of your favorite pint! Service was friendly & prompt– not a long food wait either– worth a visit!

I went to The Clarence Pub a few times during my stay in London. The food and atmosphere is amazing there and the Mac and cheese is to die for! I had it every time! I also had the fish and chips with a lager and it was the best I have had. My friend had the steak pie and loved it. The salted caramel profiteroles where amazing! The service was great and Piotr took great care of us! Wish this pub was a local pub in New York City I would be there all the time! Next time I am in London I will be stopping by for a pint and for Piotr to take care of us and make us feel right at home! Thanks!!!

OK pub next to Green Park station. Nothing spectacular and the drinks are quite pricey even for London. Not much else to say about it other than it looks much like any other pub.

Also: rein da!

I’ve walked passed this place on an evening and have seen it packed out to the pavement. Obviously an attractive spot. I went here on Sunday, when it was considerably quieter and enjoyed a few scandinavian ciders. Service was good, ambience pleasant and relaxing, décor classy, tasteful pub. Recommend it for a quiet afternoon drink. I know they serve food, but I can’t tell you what it’s like, I didn;t indulge. Reasonable prices.

This place is delicious. An upscale pub with upstairs Dining Room that is family friendly in the heart of Mayfair … The fish and chips are delicious and the pork shoulder is excellent! Great for trying a pub without the normal crowd and smells!

Came here at mid day for a late lunch, a few beers and to simply unwind after an international flight. I was not disappointed! The service here is first rate. They are very friendly and helpful in providing suggestion as the selections of beer is favorable. For this visit I had the fish and chips which was really good both in quality and quantity. My only complaint is the peas were really good, but not enough were served. If your visiting Buckingham palace and looking for a family friendly place that will not cost much, then this is the place to come as it’s a nice walk through the park. It’s also close to the Green Park tube station.

The beer is not kept that well and often runs out. It may sell strawberry beer but this is London, capital of England in Olympics year so would be nice to see a pint of bitter served that one could rely on I think that is quite important and culturally sensitive :) Come on it’s an OK place, sort out the beer and all would be fine!

It can be hard to find an honest straightforward pub in this part of London. This place is as close as it gets it has a wide range of beers including ales, the service is efficient and non obtrusive, and it doesn’t seem to get manically busy. A great place to pass the time with a beer reading the paper waiting for someone.

The pub is actually quite nice and so is the food but for God’s sake, if you’re planning a team pub lunch in this place and there’s more than 4 of you then take a bloody chill pill for the servers!!! It was 8 of us so we had to join 4 tables together(upstairs) — might just as well walked in swearing at the server, as she was absolutely awful from there on in terms of customer service: plates were pretty much thrown on the tables, her conversation was monosyllabical from there on and the attitude we were confronted was right up there with Liam Gallagher’s stage performances. Despite the food being nice don’t think I’m going in there again unless we have the«appropriate» number(4 max!) of people otherwise I might risk the same attitude again.

Lunch 3.13.10. Service = friendly. Although it’s a slightly odd set up, with upstairs having very limited alcohol selection… even though there is a full bar downstairs!(I’m going to guess they have a full bar license for downstairs but not for upstairs??) Nice view to be had from upstairs though… of Big Ben, et al. Décor = rustic with mismatched chair sizes, nice wood tables, and a giant spoon and fork for décor. lol Food= good. Except the vegetables… deplorable! Overcooked, underseasoned, totally unappetizing medley of carrots and swede. My cottage pie(minced meat and covered with mashed potatoes) was delicious as was his fish and chips. The dessert of bread-and-butter pudding, hands down best bread pudding I’ve had in my life… and I wanted second and thirds! lol

As English a place as you’ll get. From the environment to the name to the people, it’s true a true London«café.» For less than 5 pounds you get a full breakfast. You know the usual English breakfast — eggs, beans, tomatoes, sausage, ham, and all the good fixings. The bartender/waiter was friendly and they put the call into the kitchen and the food comes down a chute ha how unique and submarine like. You have to purchase the English tea separately though, but it’s worth it! yum!

The Clarence is just off Piccadilly, near the Ritz. It’s a popular pub, which does your standard pub food, nothing amazing, but soaks up the alcohol. There is more seating upstairs. The ladies loos are pretty grotty(one of the locks has been broken for ages), and they regularly run out of paper and soap. Could do with a bit of a facelift in my opinion, but fine for a glass of wine(quite a good selection) or a couple of beers on the way home.

In our tourist seach for English Breakfast, this was one of the places recommended by a Londoner on our 2nd day in London. After trying about 4 – 5 other restaurants/pubs for English Breakfast, this is probably one of the best ones by far. For £4.50, you get a lot for your money. The quality of the food was great and the service was very helpful. The only thing with this English breakfast is that you have to pay for your tea/juice/coffee and is not included in the meal. Wanted to end our London trip with the Clarence, but they were not open on a Tuesday morning. Go figure…

Caught in the midst of fashionable high flying london, The Clarence is a much sweeter alternative to many of the neighboring pubs and wine bars. I wouldn’t say this was the best Nicholsons pub I have been too. its a little too small, and the beer selection was not great. If your into ornate and embelished deco, do look at the ceiling as it is not far from grand. It can get terribly busy due to the fact there are not alot of other pubs(with out being a member) not get into.

In this bit of town it’s about cocktails served with fresh pineapple juice, champagne and cucumber sandwiches, shops with bouncers and nightclubs with clothes horses. The Clarence is not one of these sorts of establishments — it’s a pretty traditional pub, fairly untouched by modernisations or substantial changes. Last time I went it was a Thursday and it was totally packed, at 7:30ish. It’s location means that it attracts quite a lot of office workers who rather enforce a certain atmosphere on the place. It’s strictly post work relaxation drinks for most. The bar can be ridiculously slow too and there isn’t a huge amount of seating inside or outside. Good if you work close then and don’t want a cocktail or a seriously diminished bank balance tomorrow.

An excellent pub right around the corner(give or take a block or two) from Green Park tube station. It was bustling with happy punters when we arrived, early in the evening, and had a friendly, lively atmosphere. The walls are covered in old photographs and mirrors, and there are a lot of gilded frames. Looks really nice. A decent range of real ale available, including a Cornish Ale that sadly didn’t quite live up to my expectations. My favourite thing about this pub by far, though, was the fact that they have Frühli strawberry beer on tap! Say no more.
