Last year,(late 2011) when I visited the Lebanese Restaurant(that the Bungalow Café becomes in the evening), I had a very enjoyable relaxed an inexpensive meal. Its a BYO and that is obviously is an attraction too. Tonight, was totally the opposite. The lighting was so dark that it was impossible to read the dark brown menu. Last year the main meals were reasonably priced from around £6.95 for the main mealalso attractive. But this time, the starting price was more like £8.95 and upwards. My starter at £4.25 was 4 tiny thin rounds of aubergine, with a dollop of cucumber yoghurt, shredded lettuce 2 slices cucumber and 2 slices tomato. My guest’s was 4 chicken wings and the DITTOSALAD at about £5 something. Main meal2 chicken kebab skewers, lacking in flavour and seasoning, dry, served with definitely, overcooked rice with sweetcorn niblets and I think carrots,(but in the dark, I could not be sure). and DITTOSALAD& a slice of very old wilted lemon. My guest had the beef mince kebabs, also dry and the DITTOSALAD. Even before my guest had finished her starter, they had brought out our main meals. We had only just arrived at 7pm and were the only ones in the place on a Thursday. Overall experience. I would never return or recommend. Pricing is now too high for those things that have been easily purchased ready made such as houmous, tszatziki and taramosalata and the DITTOSALAD needs some serious but simple enthusiasm for taste and visual appeal. Staff. on the night.average. Music .gets even more annoying. Truth. yes I have worked in the food and beverage industry, so my observations do come from some experience!!!

Place is a filthy hovel, ramshackle and should be closed down until they do some major refurbishments and clean the place up. disgraceful. How do these places get away with it?
