Nice modern pub located just off Oxford Street, what I like the most about this place is that it isn’t crowded. It’s spacious, nicely lit and if it wasn’t for the scaffolding on the building outside you would think you were somewhere other than Central London. This is great place to come and relax, have a drink and a bit to eat especially if you are on the busy Oxford Street and you need some respite, so many places in London can get pretty busy so it’s nice to find somewhere quiter. They have music playing in the background, but it’s quite a low level so it’s easy to have a conversation. There is plenty of seating inside and the décor is nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, we even had table service and the food is tasty and well presented. We just had bar bites but they were good value for money; Pork Belly bites — delicious pieces of pork with a crispy crackly skin and sweet potato fries covered in a chilli sauce that had a definite kick to it. Portions weren’t bad and the Malbec wine was good.

We were really pleased by this choice. We wanted a casual pub-like atmosphere, minus the dark interior and plus really good food. This was the perfect answer. When we first came in, it was really busy with a crowded bar scene. The server was able to seat us really quickly at a table just close enough to the action to make it fun, but far enough so we could have a private conversation. The food was excellent. Had a great and artistically created burger while me companions had the fish and chips. Of course also with delicious beers. Great experience, highly recommend if you want something casual and fun

Great food, great location, great staff, great pub! I’ve been to the Adam and Eve now several times, for lunch, dinner and drinks, and have had a great experience every time. Tucked away just behind Oxford Circus, the pub serves great food in a quirky interior with a personal touch. The staff are all really friendly and there’s a nice relaxed atmosphere, though it does get pretty buzzy nearer the end of week. The food is a mixture of traditional pub food, american style burgers and snacks, sharing plates and salads. There’s decent vegetarian options too for non-meat eaters! Overall it’s a great pub, and one of my favourites of the options in the area mainly for the staff who are easy to talk to and always up for a laugh.

Formerly the Ben Crouch Tavern(see previous reviews) — now the Adam and Eve(owned by the Geronimo Inn group) High ceilings, tasteful décor and a good range of meals. I had the rare beef sandwich, which was served on a cheeseboard, for a point of difference. Great service any attentiveness — would recommend for lunch following a shop down Oxford St. Wi Fi password = geronimo.

Great bar for after work drinks, close to Oxford St. If your looking for a pit stop after some shopping.

Recently moved back to London and popped in here for a quick midweek lunch. Looks recently refurbished and done out nicely with an eclectic feel. Bright space with high ceilings and a mix of different seating areas including comfy looking old leather sofas, more formal tables is the middle of the room and booths around the sides. We ordered the haloumi salad from the menu and the chicken and bacon salad from the specials board. Both were fresh and tasty and ok value for central London at about a tenner each. Service was efficient and attentive. Most of the tables were set for lunch, so more a place for food during the day. Might venture back one evening to see if it also works as a venue for post-work drinks. WIll be back.

I’m glad we sat upstairs rather than downstairs as I would only be staring at the chef cooking because of the amazing burger they make. The burger is much enjoyable. In fact a little bit too much for me but was good for the boys. The onion rings are filled with onions, and not just batter. My sister in law ordered the burger without the bun, which came with a side house salad. We thought it would be quite tiny but it came in a good size. The strawberry milkshake was great too. I was biting into the strawberry bits, whether it’s dried/frozen strawberries or fresh strawberries. At least it wasn’t strawberry ice cream as most places do.

This well turned out pub, does lack atmosphere, with its newly decked out furnishings. Welcome surprise was the little area at the back where you could smoke, with some dignity. The meat in the beef roast was well above average, and a very generous portion. Though for £15 a plate, it should be. The rest of the meal was good, as was the wine. Handy if you are in the area, but too much of a chain pub for me.

The 2.5 star rating duly set my expectations pretty low for The Adam and Eve, so they had plenty of wiggle room to over-deliver. Cosy couch seating around a coffee table toward the window made for a pleasant, intimate space to socialise with some colleagues and other work acquaintances. Plus, they have Doom Bar on draught which, for being a real ale, is actually quite delicious. I(wisely, if I do say so myself) opted to biggity-bounce roughly at the same time that the food arrived. The sight of potato skins, mini-franks, wannabe-nachos, and various other bar foods did nothing to inspire confidence in me. I can wholeheartedly report that 1) I didn’t sample the edibles here and 2) I don’t feel like I missed out on anything. Arguably, this puts my overall regard for The Adam and Eve higher than the rest of my Unilocaling peers. As a wise person once said, ‘Learn from the mistakes of others. You don’t have time to make them all yourself.’

I was persuaded to go here by my colleagues on a Friday lunchtime. We all opted for the home made burger and the promise from two of my colleagues that it could give Byron Burgers a run for it’s money. Sadly that wasn’t the case. The Burgers arrived and whilst the meat was ok, it was woefully under seasoned. The french fries were like match sticks and pretty forgettable much like the pub itself. For £10 it was not worth it and certainly a pale second to the mighty Byron Burgers. All in all it’s an alright gastro pub just don’t expect much.

This is a «theme» pub… Decorated with everything Halloween/Goth. Definitely a bit over-th-top cheesy, but still fun. It’s good just to stop in with a few friends for a test tube shot before going out.

Ok for food but nothing special. Pie and mash and a pint came to 16 pound. Pie tasty and mash ok, and the gravy was a little thin. Nice atmosphere will probably just use this for drinking in future.

There is no getting away from the fact this is a chain, but a good chain all the same. Very friendly staff, average prices and some cute touches on the décor. Haven’t tried the food yet, but based on the other reviews I might not bother. All round good Fitzrovia option…

I hadn’t had a decent fish and chip lunch for a while, sadly on leaving the place, this situation still stood. The chirpy staff tried their hardest, but this was the worst form of cook by numbers I’ve had for a while. A dark batter carapace flecked with a mystery herb had been in the fryer for way too long. It died protecting the white flesh below but the eventual reveal showed that the fish had given up the ghost long ago. It had the look of blackened cod underneath, fibrous and chewy from the deep fry. The chunky chips looked promising initially, but a whiff of old oil hung above them, and I was only saved from the taste of that by the salt that the poundshop Jamie Oliver in the kitchen had liberally dumped on them before they reached me.

This former«horror pub» is now a gastro pub after apparently undergoing a significant renovation. My Sunday fish and chips was good, but nothing to rave about on the internet. What is rave worthy is the staff. We were in the pub for about 6 hours and the bar staff and wait staff were always very attentive despite us not ordering anything after the second hour. They joked with us, kept our water glasses filled, and ultimately gave us a free round of beer. This pub rises above others in the neighborhood by truly being a friendly neighborhood hangout. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll be sure to stop by again.

The Adam & Eve is the pub formerly known as Ben Crouch’s Tavern. I was disappointed to find Ben Crouch’s had been replaced by what at first sight was just another trendy food bar. However, as I’d arranged to meet friends there, I stuck around. I’m glad I did. The ambience is very different to the dank gothiness of Ben Crouch’s, but I actually quite like it. Quirky enough to be fun, but not so much that it seems they tried to hard; the chairs are matchingly mis-matched, the toilets are labelled ‘loos’, and there are some pictures of 60s ‘swingers’ dotted around. So far, so good. The menu consists of your expected staples(bangers & mash, ploughman’s, fish & chips) complimented by a specials board. Prices seem fairly standard, for London anyway. I had a filo parcel of goat’s cheese, spinach and red onion, and it was gorgeous. It may be this, combined with my G&T, which helped to make the Adam & Eve feel like a very welcoming venue, but all I know is I will be returning soon. Ben who?
