I’ve finally found authentic Greek souvlaki in London. I went to Athens in the summer and tasted what I deem to be the best Souvlaki I’ve ever tasted. Me and my girlfriend have been dreaming of it since, this place is a close second. Will definitely be returning here for my fix.

I had read some great reviews about this place so had high hopes. I was a bit let down! The food was okay but nothing special and for the price not very filling. The food wasn’t bad, it was just far from good. We tried a few things on the menu… The skewers, a Wrap and some sides, and nothing stood out, I wasn’t blown away by flavours or quality. It was all just ‘Meh’. considering we ordered an extra main to share both of us were still hungry afterwords All in all for the price you pay there are 1000s of better places in London, and I won’t be returning to Suvlaki any time soon unfortunately;

Oh my god real suvlaki and Cretan salad!!! Ok I will tone down the excitement to write this review. There are lots of restaurants claiming to be ‘real’ Greek and I must say they are not! This one however definitely is. The obligatory blue and white and Ionian column theme might be there to honour the cliches but the graffiti on the wall saying ‘sex, suvlaki and rock’n’roll’ is definitely bringing some tongue in cheek Greek spirit back. But let’s just get to the food. You can choose between a selection of skewers or wraps, get one big one or 3 mini ones. Go for pork, chicken and sausage as lamb is not a suvlaki meat. Lamb is doner meat because some people don’t eat pork. Anyway, you can also get a cooked main, I recommend the feta stuffed burgers. No real Greek meal is complete without sides on the table so definitely get the chips, baked feta, Cretan salad and tzatziki. Depending on how much you want to eat you can have the mini wraps as sides as well and get a proper main course. For drinks try the Fix beer or the fruity red wine. After your meal you have to order a Greek coffee with sugar. The aroma and flavour of it is beyond belief! No espresso can hold a candle next to it hands down. As you may have guessed, I plan to go there a lot now that I have found it. Finally a proper Greek street food place like the ones I used to have growing up. You have one very happy Greek person here!!!
