Stopped by here as I wanted to try out some different sushi take away places than Wasabi /Itsu… and I think I’m definitely choosing the latter after eating at this place! I ordered a mixed sushi box, and the salmon was very thinly sliced and smelled a bit funny. I don’t know if they ran out of japanese rice, but it felt like they used Jasmine rice because when I bit into the sushi — the rice crumbled apart and it all the grains were hard, instead of being soft and chewy. Maybe they were having a bad day, but I’m not giving it another chance.

I’ve been here quite a few times now and I’ve never had any problems. It’s in a great location at the back of Covent Garden and on the edge of Nine Dials. It’s a whole-in-the-wall job but it does have a long bench at the front which I usually sit at and people-watch. The sushi itself isn’t amazingly great but it’s nice enough, I thought the rice was fine but then I like it to be quite solid, the fish was also nice but it didn’t really taste as fresh as it should have been, the california rolls were tasty even if I don’t usually like them with raw vegetables in. There’s always a good selection though and at between £2.50 for a set of California rolls and £7 for a big bento box it’s very reasonable for prime tourist-country. I can never restrain myself and always go for a big bento box. The staff are friendly and if you go after 5pm there’s a 30% discount on all the un-sold stuff. The selection of drinks if fine if you’re a big fan of weird Japanese drinks but I’m always too scared to try Aloe Vera drink and plump for a bottle of water instead. If this place was round the corner from where I worked I’d be here every other day I think, I am a real sushi addict.

I really wanted to like this ‘authentic Japanese cuisine’ kiosk, but unfortunately was very disappointed with the basics like sushi rice, that tasted just awfuly dry and old… what a shame. Maybe next time I will go with their sashimi and a cold can of some pink looking sake(or other cute looking alcoholic cans) — since they have some benches outside for you to catch some sun and do some people watching.

I am not the biggest sushi aficionado, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my £3.99 chicken maki roll pack. I rocked up at around 3:30pm, so I wasn’t expecting the freshest food, but it tasted fresh. It was a mini meal in a wrap — carrot, chicken, rice and other such green vegetable I cannot name all encased in seaweed. I liked it. This place for all intensive purposes is a walk in fridge. With plenty of salads, wraps and sushi packs of all sizes to choose, makes this fast service a winner if you need to pick up a healthy lunch on the fly.

Really I’m being a little to generous giving this place 3 stars. It’s the kind of spot where you’d rock up for some food if you were in a rush and not really going to think about what you were going to eat. This is definitely not a place to spoil your lover! The fish was nice but did taste a little like it had been sat there a while, but I guess we did buy the boxes at 8pm so I can’t really expect much else. I’m sorry I’m so drab in this email, I just can’t get excited about this food! Sorry!

I came here once in my former days of mummy handling at the British Museum and I got the bento box which is delicious. I remember the sushi man being really funny but I have no idea what we talked about that day as it was some time ago. They have seats outside but none inside, nice when we have a sun in the sky but not so nice when it’s cold.

Sushi, hand rolled in the heart of Covent Garden, with a student discount on already cheap prices?! Mecca!!! Sushi So has been a lifesaver this entire summer, where lunches in Covent Garden consisted mostly of the same old Pret sandwiches. Until I discovered the Bento Box at this little takeaway gem. And of course, after 5pm, they have a third off all sushi boxes, making it a great pre-supper meal before going to see a movie or a play. There is a little bench outside, where you can sit and eat your food, or wander over to a cozy spot of your own. Not that great in the winter, so its missing out on that one star…

Small kiosk selling authentic Japanese bento, sushi, drinks and snacks to take away. They can heat your food for you in the microwave and have an outside bench for you to eat at, or you can take your prepacked food away with you. At the end of the day lots of the sushi sets and bento are sold off cheap but you have to beat local office staff to it!
