This is one of the nicer Starbucks in London. Not for the layout, but for the excellent customer service. You always get greeted with a smile, and enthusiasm that is quite rare for a large chain outlet in London. This is one branch that I actually look forward to entering. I’m a regular customer here. The reason I chose to review it today, was I was serviced by a guy called Parfait who beamed at me and announced that I was his first ever customer that he had serviced. That enthusiasm and the fact that there are double loyalty stars today has made me a happy Chappie!

Be aware. Phone thiefs are operating in this shop! Friend of mine has had her phone next to her laptop and a male person came and offered Christmas cards to buy. In that moment of distraction he took the iPhone… gone. Watch out for those ba**erds! Management at least offered to give out CCTV footage. No outcome, whatever.

We all know I’m not a big fan of Starbucks. In fact, I’ve been boycotting them for quite some time but this little gem of a shop might convert me. First of all, it’s opposite my doctors surgery and around the corner from the chemist. Handy for when you’ve got to wait for a prescription, as I’m doing now. I’m told it’s been recently refurbed. Means nothing to me as I never came in before but I will say it has a nice relaxed feel to it, might be something to do with the reggae playing in the background. Not much to say about the coffee save for that the GORGEOUS Italian guy working today suggested I have my flat white with the Ethiopian roast. Obviously I did as he suggested(I’d probably do anything he suggested) and it made for the nicest flat white I’ve had at Starbucks! Will I be back, but of course. Almost feel bad saying it but I think(I know) I like it in here! Ciao!

It’s Starbucks. What else can-ya-say? I’m not a fan of the burnt taste of Starbucks coffee so much. I tend to mask it with tons of milk, sugar and caramel. One of my ex-colleagues once referred to my coffee order to him as ‘tooth-rot in a paper cup’. He’s right. I have to admire their marketing though. One of the pioneers of making people believe that they should pay £8765 for a cup of hot black water, I have to admire that. It’s almost like they have an addictive substance in the drink. And hey… guess wha? Chrissy Boy is addicted. This particular branch is pretty good. Most staff speak the local language and are friendly. It is a bit of a weird layout inside — seating areas are thrown into any gap. A-OK.

To run from the cold, and right before we headed off to Abbey Road, we stopped to check out the British Starbucks menu. Right off the bat, I spotted the word praline, and decided I’d get the praline mocha. I love praline, and thankfully, this starbucks didn’t water down their mocha, like the original does. My only criticism was how full it was, and how little space there was to order and pay.

Across the street and slightly around the corner from the Maida Vale Tube, this Starbucks is just like every other in the UK. There are coolers of pastries and sandwiches, plus sodas and drinks and the usual coffee options. Quite deep with a large back room with many tables and a couple of comfortable sofas with power outlets nearby. Free Starbucks wi-fi(technically not free — you have to top up a Starbucks card with £5 and register) is easy to access and speedy enough. It’s A-OK. Not«I’m a fan or I’ve seen better». This one is perfectly adequate.

A nice branch, they are very friendly. It also has a nice atmosphere as it is roomy and not really overly busy lilke they can be in some locations such as Oxford Street. This is Starbucks at it’s best.
