This branch of Starbucks is one of many«smaller» coffee shops along Borough High Street, and is directly opposite the tube station, so it can become a stop-off point for commuters traveling via the station, due to its’ location. The store isn’t very big, with only limited seating and it being quite narrow, compared to other Starbucks, with it being more longways, but still they is enough room for a few people to get around, which makes it okay to visit at peak times, and it is wide enough for wheelchairs to fit down, although you probably will have a problem getting in a window seat. They is plug sockets here, but the seats with them often go quick, and the tables do have little room, so unless you desperately need to charge your phone, I’d say to avoid it. The staff here seemed okay, they didn’t seem to stand out and were pretty much your average staff you would see from a franchise, with the likes of PRET A Manger on Oxford Street being much better, and Starbucks at Waterloo station being a lot worse. This store also has free wifi, but still it isn’t a great place for working, unless you sit on the more«middle» table, which is wider, however it doesn’t really have any plug sockets, so it is only okay for working for limited times really. My coffee didn’t stand out, and was pretty much your average Starbucks drink, which once again, can be better, and worse at different Starbucks branches, even just in London. This is quite a nice store, and I was both surprised and delighted to have picked up a Starbucks card key fob, which is very convenient and I had never seen before(so this store gets an extra star just for that!, and considering it being a pretty average store, yet in a decent location, I still feel 3 stars is quite fair for this branch.

I was at Borough Station on a Friday afternoon, it was chilly and my friend had just called to say she’d be about half an hour so when I clocked a large Starbucks across the road I thought ‘perfect’! Quick, hassle-free service, free wifi and ample seating, I ordered a tall hot chocolate and sat myself in the window to keep an eye out for her, and generally be nosy. The wifi worked perfectly and although I felt like a total cliché at least I managed to get some work done. The drink however, left a lot to be desired. It wasn’t even hot! It may as well have been called ‘lukewarm chocolate’. In fact, it wasn’t even chocolatey, so they could have named it ‘lukewarm sweetened milk’. Fail! The whole place was cold and sterile, lacking character, lacking music, lacking smiling people. I want my hot chocolate to live up its name — I want it hot and rich(you know what’s coming next, say it with me) — like my men!

A nice sized Starbucks across the street from the Borough Tube Station. Like others in the UK, they have coolers of drinks and pastries and sandwiches available to be pressed and warmed up. Also the usual selection of(overpriced and overroasted) coffee drinks. Plentiful power outlets and free wifi if you register a Starbucks card and top it up with at least £5.
