One star is even too much for this place. You see Nando’s packed and Byron’s packed and see that Pizza Express has space available. You are hungry so, you give it a try. Big mistake. My family and I walked in. Asked to be seated at a booth that was available, but the waitress said it’s not available and placed us at a table. From there on we were just ignored. We sat there for 30 minutes and the waiter just stared at us, waited on one table next to us, but not more. We finally gave up and walked a bit over to Wagamamma. What a delightful experience we had. Avoiding PizzaExpress turned out to be the fastest and best way to get a good meal.

Pizza was a bit expensive and was not full of flavour. I ordered a spiced lamb, and not only where there very little lamb, there were also not much spices. The chilli oil did not taste spicy at all. The pizza was not bad, but just was not impressive. Good service and helpful people though!

If you can avoid it don’t even think about it. Service was poor(at best) and pizza not that great. Actually, even if you can’t avoid it still don’t! I am sure there’ll be something better if you’re willing to wait 30 seconds. Awful!

First of all — pizza is often better right out of the oven… therefore I showed up at 10:00 because Unilocal said 10:30 close. I’ll take back this complaint if I learn Unilocal has time wrong. In any case upon arrival I was told they were closed even though there were a number of folks in seats. After a car salesman move by gent who greeted me(going to talk to manager) I was told still closed but could do take out — desperate after long day of travel I made the mistake to order. Pizza was made promptly, fair priced and guy who took my order very attentive(Brazilian). Since I had to take pizza to my hotel I banked on cold pizza logic(better than no pizza). I did have a slice on the walk and when hot not too bad but sported a soggy crust(got the«famous» classic vs thin crust… another miscue on my part). Back at my room in full light I discovered a pie obviously hastily constructed with very poor ingredient distribution, bland sauce, undercooked mushrooms and even soggier crust. One star totally for the guy from Brazil.

You get what you come for here really. I came on a quick pre-cinema dinner date with my girlfriend, using our EE2-for-1 voucher. Service is polite and very quick. Potentially too quick, making you feel rushed– but as long as you take the time you want, I don’t see a problem! Great they now have a vegan option with their dough balls & Piana pizza! Loved it.

Easily and repeatedly the worst service of any restaurant in the area. I’ve dined in this branch 4 – 5 times and now refuse to go back. People seemed to like it because of TasteLondon — even when it was half price, it was too irritating to consider.

Given that the service and food is pretty much the same in every pizza express, you can only really judge them against each other on décor, location and ambience. This one is bright and airy, is well located and has ‘outdoor’ seating that encroaches on the mall space, which does kind of work for that al fresco feeling :)

Working in Canary Wharf means there are a number of food options due to the sheer number of potential customers. Would this mean an increase in the quality to match the competition. I’m undecided on this place. They have an interesting selection of pizza toppings which are generally tasty but then the base isn’t great. Some love it but the floury taste and impossible to cut crust doesn’t make the experience more pleasing. Value is ok and service pleasant.

For a place with Pizza in its name I think the Pizzas here are quite unimpressive… they are very small and not particularly tasty… the salads are worse… however, it is good value for money and the service is generally polite and quite fast

This was the second time I have been to this Pizza express. Normally, the food is ok, though not great. We arrived late at 9:36pm, website states that they are open until 10. We were greeted with a quite rude ‘we are closed now’. When asking about the time on the website, we were told that there must be an error. Second waiter joined and repeatedly said ‘we are closed’. Rude reception, will not go again. Better alternative is gourmet pizza around the corner.

Pizza Express — my favorite pizza place. It’s nice, spacious and modern. They make the best American hot. The staff is really friendly.

Sometimes you want just a decent pizza that hits the spot and fills a craving. This chain seems to be consistent. It fits for most people. Working in Canary Wharf, this is just across the street from my office and makes it easy for me to go grab a quick pie to go or sit and have a more relaxed lunch with colleagues. There service is good, the food is good and it is relatively affordable. I will be coming back here whenever I get that craving for a pizza.

This place is a typical Pizza Express, you can’t really fault it, it does what it says on the tin. Its reasonably priced and a good central location. Service can be a bit sloppy at lunchtimes, I think they don’t have enough waiting staff. You can’t book, so get there early at lunchtime otherwise you will have to wait, despite the large size of the restaurant. Because its all open at the front, it can be cold, especially in the winter.

Pizza Express always get 5 stars from me. They definately do some great pizzas, nice with a thin crisp and lots of options on the toppings. Much better than the old Pizza Hut which seems to be aimed more at kids and families. Pizza Express aims to be a bit more upmarket and for adults what with the flowers on the table and nicer cutlery — okay, so it’s not a posh dinner out, but it’s a perfectly respectable one. As far as the menu goes, the wine list is fine enough choice there, ditto the pizzas, but if you dont like pizza then you may be a bit stuck. I dont recall the pasta options being all that great. Then again, it is called pizza express and not pizza and pasta express!

There are Pizza Expresses and there are Pizza Expresses! I love their pizzas. So the food here is good. The service is swift. The restaurant is bright — under a dome –funky and clean… so what’s the problem? Well it does lack any atmosphere at all. The accoustics are truly horrible. Sound bounces off and up that dome and you can find it hard to hear the person opposite you. It’s also a fridge. All heat goes up to and out of that dome. I hate being cold. It makes me miserableso a bit of a miserable experience!

Another Italian restaurant at Canary Wharf but not a very special one — they may make the pizzas freshly, but I personally did not find it that much better than any non-freshly made ones. To be fair, the price is not bad, you get what you pay for, so no gripes in that respect. Service-wise, nothing amazing either, basic levels but could be better. However, given the alternatives available, I would go to other Italian restaurants in the area for pastas or pizzas.

I love this place so much! It’s right at the top of Canada Place and is a great meal out. Pizza Express do some of the best quality Pizzas you can get outside Italy, and you can make them exactly as you like. As you walk in you are greeted by the waiting staff that take you to your table. You can openly see the kitchen where the pizzas are made which makes the experience feel more authentic. The restaurant looks really modern and is designed really well. It is always at a comfortable temperature. It can get busy at lunch times, so be sure to get there early.
