Friendly bar/restaurant, with competently produced Italian(ate) food, and efficient staff. Stands out somewhat in the chain-restaurant desert that is Canary Wharf.

While everything seemed to be packed around Canary Wharf, this place was almost empty so we decided to sit down, as we had quite a large group of people. The drinks selection is quite short and I’d just recommend you get a pint of peroni. However there’s a few snacks to have with your drink at £4.50 each and they are pretty decent. I had the calamari and it went well with my beer and one of my friends had the chicken wings and she was happy with them too. I didn’t think this is a place to seek out but you can definitely enjoy a nice pint by the river in the summer months and escape the heat.

Canary Wharf tends to be populated by noisy/crowded bars and/or chain establishment, so this full service Italian(and nearby branch of Relais Entrecôte) make a pleasant change Good food, good service, reasonable prices.

Lovely atmosphere, even better food and the service was very good as well. I came with my husband and was so impressed that I brought a friend who was visiting London. We ordered about 5 appetizers and shared everything, and somehow managed to finish all the food, it was that good, but I definitely felt like I had to be rolled home. Good thing we walked around a bit afterwards and managed to digest some of the food. A good place to go if you live in Canary Wharf, if not, it’s a bit of a hike to get to.

I took a client for dinner here and was not impressed. Ordered some fried squid and they came out as rubber bullets. Pasta was also undercooked and well below the al dente zone !

We came here for happy hour after work on Thursday and overall I have to say we had a great experience. It’s located on the wharf overlooking the quay which means beautiful sunset and water views. We didn’t go inside the restaurant, instead just stopping by for drinks with friends. However, given how busy it was the great service and friendly bar tenders are what would make me go back again. Great option if you work in the area and need a happy hour spot.

Quieter than the bars along the water front as I understand the restaurant closes after lunch and opens again at 17:00. So if you are after a quiet meal outside in the sun and beside the water I don’t think you will go far wrong. As mentioned in previous reviews you may wait for your courses but if you are not in a hurry and want freshly cooked food then this is the place to sit and take in some evening sun(weather permitting). The time soon goes if you are with good company. We decided on the special evening menu 2 meals for £13 although there were 3 of us the 3rd meal was charged as £6.50, thanks for that. Reasonable wine selection athough pricey at £20 £25 plus. Having said that we tried the house white which was very pleasant, in fact we polished off 2 bottles. These are £15.00. The service was exemplary, linen napkins, always a good sign, the wine glasses were refilled just at the right time. There was plenty of complimentary bread, olive oil and bolsamic served while waiting for our meal and was refilled when emptied. If there is one critisism it would be the bread seemed dry, this was probably being a very hot day and not being covered. I am still giving 5 stars for the service and quality of the main course.

I don’t particularly like Italian cuisine. In fact, in my hierarchy of cuisines — it ranks near the bottom — just above Mexican. However, I really like Amerigo Vespucci’s in Canary Wharf. Their food is fresh, tastes great and best of all — doesn’t taste run of the mill. The restaurant is located in Canary Wharf overlooking one of the quays. I’ve eaten out on the patio on a nice evening with a nice view of the water. The interior of the restaurant is nice — kind of typical Italian restaurant décor. Waitservice is excellent — always able to answer questions on how the dish is prepared and recommendations for any special diet restrictions. I brought a vegetarian and they were able to provide ample suggestions on the menu. Their salads are decent. Salads in London don’t mean the same thing as they do in LA — greens are used more as a garnish in London rather than a main ingredient. I’ve had the tomato and mozarella salad, which was fresh and served with aged balsamic vinegar to counter the saltiness of the cheese. Main dishes have been consistently good each time I’ve been there. I typically order a fish dish — they are well prepared and tasty. My last time there I ordered a cheesecake for dessert and it was massive. Somehow I managed to finish the whole thing — I don’t even want to think of the calories. It seemed to have been made at the restaurant — it had a home made texture and fresh ingredients. Many times, the restaurants serve cheesecakes that seem to have been purchased from a local Cheesecake Factory. For me to give an Italian restaurant five stars is quite a compliment — especially, since I’m not particularly fond of Italian cuisine.

On a recent trip to London and staying in the Canary Wharf business district, I happened upon this place on my first night of jet laggedness. I was early, so there was only one other table occupied but I wasn’t too worried about the lack of customers. I agonized back and forth with the unfamiliar menu and finally settled on two of the courses from the specials menu. First course– pancetta with mixed greens(which were fine) and smoked goat’s cheese. The cheese was indeed smoked and had that flavor and aroma you only get via smoking. However the cheese was rubbery like a balloon or something. Too bad. Second course– short rib risotto. This was quite nice and a huge portion so I was certainly filled up but I did want dessert. Dessert course– Sadly this too was disappointing as I could tell this was not fresh but a bought in dessert that they dressed up on the plate. The pastry, instead of flaky, was chewy. To sum up– M’eh

Nice place. Food is less than average, no finesse. Starters have bigger portions than main dishes. Service was a complete disaster: delays & wrong dishes. I would not return.

This is a lovely little restaurant in Canary Wharf, right by the waters edge. I have actually only been the once for a Christmas Party, but really enjoyed the italian experience. The restaurant is slightly on the small size but I think this gives it a great cosy atmosphere. The food was wonderful and the service was very good. The staff really made you feel welcome. I book this restaurant for my boss to go for meetings regularly. So it must be good if he likes it! I dont know where the nearest car park is but I do know there are a few around. You are probably best getting there by dlr or tube though.

Excellent food, nice settings — specially on a hot summer’s day. A treat to be able to sit outside with no cars whizzing past and just look out on the water. A bit slow, but friendly service. A bit pricier than Zizzi, Pizza Express and the like, but worth it for the individualty.

Ooooh hello. If you can find this place, you’re in for a treat. Busy at lunch time, but gloriously quiet in the evenings you can’t go wrong here. Seeing as most places in Canary Wharf are full, and they’re dull, generic chains, finding a good Italian was never going to be easy around here. I absolutely adore this place. I’ve had everything from scallops and pasta, to chicken in some artery clogging sauce which I fell in love with. Everything about the food is brilliant. But it’s not just the food. They don’t rush you when you’re eating. When we got there too early and they weren’t serving yet they till gave us drinks. They didn’t moan or roll their eyes that I took ages to decide(and I always do.) They leave enough time for you to chat before they ask you if you need anything else. AND, somehow they time things so perfectly, that when they come over and ask if everything is OK, you don’t have a mouth full of spaghetti. Brilliant. Lunch for two with a couple of glasses of wine was a little under £30, my birthday meal here was a bit more expensive, but I wans’t paying and I didn’t order the champagne! Perfect for special occasions.

A gorgeous gem tucked away for the hustle and bustle in Canary Wharf. We were given a lovely table by the window with river views. The waiter brought over a basket of delicious breads, ciabata and some Italian tomato bread! Dipped in Olive oil was fantastic. Starters — we had King prawns in Garlic and white wine sauce, A selection of cured meats with Rocket and parmesan, Fried calamari. Great! I went for a Seabass which was in a light sauce with fennel and dill! Mine was really good and fresh, And the steamed spinach on the side really worked well with the fish. My friends had Dover sole and Monk Fish — all good. Didn’t have room for dessert, although the Lemon and Lime cheesecake did sound good. I will have to wait for my next visit,.
