This place is just rad! Don’t be confused, it’s tiny as hell but man the vibe is exhilarating. The pianist is out of this world, he can play ANYTHING. For real, ANYTHING. From rap to indie, to British pop, he sings it loud and proud and he does it damn well! Plus, the whole place can’ help but join in with him. Get there early if you want somewhere to sit, or to try to get in at all. Since it’s small, it gets filled up quick. Not a great selection on mocktails and it is a pricey joint but certainly a night I’ll never forget and hope to return too soon!

Really nice little place, good wine and live music. Pity we didn’t stay until the performance last time. Didn’t try the food, but the ice cream was a bit disappointing… Definitely will go back to see the performance.

Got here around 10pm tonight and it had the obnoxious line outside. Waited and waited only to be turned away because I forgot my idea(my husband had his). Seriously, I’m about 10 years older than anyone on that line. If I wanted to deal with pretentious attitude BS, I’d be back in NY. Won’t ever return and everyone else, STAYAWAY

Got this recommend by a couple I English solid 5’s. I’m certainly objectifying sorry ladies. Anyways, me and my friend PJ were looking for a chill relaxing environment. Piano bars are perfect for this. This place was small, had the vibe and the pianist was accommodating and wasn’t at all bad. I want to be his friend. Drinks were average priced and the crowd was welcoming. I feel you have a 50⁄50 chance of bringing someone home at this place but if you don’t it’s still a fun time to me that’s win win. Choose your agenda guys. I thoroughly enjoyed my night. Flirted with one Irish commy whom left because I was talking to another group while ordering another drink. Place was rad, got drunk sang done and done.

Fancy live music, rock-n-roll piano and a booming atmosphere? Then this is a place you should plan a visit to. The only downside is it could be a little bigger… but I can’t mark down a piano bar for that(just be early or call ahead to reserve!). Good cocktails, good music and a great atmosphere! I can even forgive the barmaid’s very rude response when I asked for an extra bar stool…

Excellent live piano, and busy even on a Tuesday night. Everyone was having so much fun! Wouldn’t recommend it if you want to have a serious discussion, but for a glass of wine and some lively entertainment, it’s definitely a good place to know.

After catching-up with a friend for drinks and dinner in South Ken on a Friday night, I was introduced to this place, and I have to say I had a blast! It was absolutely packed, but not in such a way that a small group of us couldn’t get a table close to the tiny bar, and it was still possible to get served promptly. The piano player at the other end of the narrow room was totally obscured from view by people, but could certainly be heard as he belted out a great combination of sing-along classics and current tunes alike. A really fun venue, guaranteed to have your ears still ringing the next morning!

Go to this Kensington High Street bar(one of two in town, this one is Piano Kensington, to take a temporary break from Shoreditch über-cool and have some good old unselfconscious fun. In fact, reprogram your mind to think of retro nights out with your mates in your hometown, transposed to a secret-ish smart-enough Kensington bar, reached through a narrow grey street door on the other side of the road from the tube and up the stairs to a medium-sized first-floor bar with a grand piano by the window, in front of which the dad dancing can safely turn to more riotous boogying and merriment by well-tempered very mixed groups. The mature competent pianist plays well-known old skool(or just old) tunes, by request, if the original singer was also male Maddonna, mate, what do I look like? The clientele is younger and an unusual mix of bemused tourists, small happy female groups on a not-over-sophisticated night out sitting at the tables drinking cocktails(like ours, plus myself), one couple snogging in the corner in between eating french fries, and hooray-henry types sitting closer to the piano drinking wine and bottled beer. The food’s a snack range, tasty, not in big quantities; the drinks cost a tad more than the last time you sang along to Hotel California!

Tiny upstairs bar. Fun piano guy. American covers. The bartenders were meh. Not super friendly. Matter of fact, I am sure after waiting for about 10 minutes for a beer, the bartender actually looked at me and said, «what»? Um, what? How about a friggin beer… that’s what? It was the one bar/club I was asked if I was«on the list». For real? It’s a bar. All in all fun crowd… weird staff.

I love this place. I think some people see this bar as a place to go for a drink or two, some appies, for some nice music in a relaxed environment, possibly on a date. My friends and I on the other hand see it as a place to start the night, have many bottles of wine, sing along, and get amped up for the rest of the night(as it closes at 12). While the space is very limited(be prepared to get drinks spilled on you if you want to get close to the piano man) it makes it even more of a fun atmosphere when everyone is singing along. The piano players are really talented and take requests. I would not recommend this place for food. I had my birthday«dinner» here recently and the menu consists of appetizers that seem to have just been bought from the local Sainsburys(meat/cheese platter, fried risotto balls) or the McDonalds downstairs(french fries). I would recommend the house white wine as probably the most economical way to drink, and it’s not that bad. The mixed drinks are expensive and are finished off too quickly to be worth it. The place is very small and be prepared to wait in line if you arrive after around 9.

Piano is, as one would expect, a piano bar. It’s not a very big one with a rectangular room crammed with tables with the bar at one end and a piano(with pianist) at the other. The piano player does his best to try and draw the audience in and interact with various people as much as possible. Sometimes this works, sometimes it is just cringeworthy. I find it entertaining that the name conjures up memories of bars(in the musical not alcoholic sense) being played very softly yet on some nights this place is incredibly rowdy with people belting out verses along with the music. Sometimes, like the last Sunday I was there, it is quiet in keeping with the name and almost deadly quiet. The former is more entertaining, the latter better for nursing the hangover inevitably incurred as a result of Saturday night festivities. Drinkswise, it’s a bit pricey(gotta pay for the piano player somehow) and not that well made but good enough for a bar. The focus isn’t on the drinks after all. Overall, I probably will not opt to come back to this one as the Soho venue is much more conveniently located but I could see this as a good pre-Rooftop Gardens stop as it’s suitably classy. I’m biased in my rating as the quiet Sunday wasn’t much fun but I hopefully will make it for a wild Friday night at some point.

About 11.30pm, several drinks deep, I rather loudly shouted into my friends ear«I love this bar!». And I do. I didn’t know what to expect. A quick google suggested it could be an upscale jazz piano bar — uncouth rugby boys such as me need not apply. Perhaps it can be a little like that during the week when I’m told they have some serious talent and well known names behind the piano. I went on a Saturday night when this bar was in full blown party mood. The guy on the keys was churning out all the classic cheesy numbers and everyone was singing their hearts out. Requests are taken and appear to get played if accompanied by a tip ;-) A long, thin bar, not much space to move(but plenty of space to dance, funnily enough) unless you’ve got a table reserved(I was told it was one in, one out at 9pm when I arrived — luckily I was on the list). The drinks are a little steep — but it’s worth it. I will be back.

Cheezy good fun. Michael Moore on a Friday night plays all of the faves and takes requests. I felt like I was in Glee singing old classics like Journey, Abba and Billy Joel and great renditions of new songs from the Killers and Lady Gaga. If you are up for a cheezy girl’s night this is the place on a Friday – get there early and grab a seat at the bar.

This is my idea of the perfect way to spend an evening. Gather round your friends for an evening of live music while singing along and enjoying a few small plates and large glasses filled with vino. What could be a more wonderful evening? There was a good selection of wines, and the white that I tried was quite tasty. Pours are steep here too, so watch out. I was somewhat surprised how extensive the beer selection was as well. There were a lot of tasty looking cocktails too going around that I noticed as well. So there is something for everyone here. The bar is very small and cramped. But I almost think that in this case it added to the atmosphere. This place has such an amazing buzz to it, as soon as you walk through the door. The ambiance is so lively and wonderful, you can’t help yourself from singing along while throwing back a couple glasses of wine and having a great time. But watch yourself, I bet it’s easy to get carried away here and get a bit too pissed. Unfortunately, we left quite early as the place was packed and there were no tables for us to sit. I recommend arriving early for some plates to nibble on or booking to ensure you get a table for the full experience. I plan on doing so my next visit.

Oh Piano Bar… Whenever I am in town, my friends and I always ALWAYS go to Piano Bar to celebrate my arrival. Why? I dunno, I always seem to blackout though. So it must be a totally awesome bar, right? Right?

Jazz & Blues to your clean ears; hmmm I had a chance to celebrate a close friends birthday celebration here. The Piano Bar is an elegant cosy bar opposite High Street Kensington tube. Walking up the stairs itself starts the beginning to a perfectly civilised celebration. We heard a womanly voice hum away her blues. Until the arrival of the birthday cake all was calm and serence and then fireworks. With yays! and birthday kisses and just chitter-chatter we seemed to be getting into the real grove. After the first round of champagne; shaking a leg or two with the rhythm was a delight to the other guests too. Everyone seemed to be happy with us and the place. The bar is fully equipped to drunk you with anything of your choice. Ask and you shall receive. Please book before you drop in, because you don’t want to be disappointed. Some famous and budding singers have performed here.
