This place is quite alright, with friendly staff and nice food. It is located really centrally in Soho and in Summer they open the windows and have some tables outside where people can sit and chat and eat. We had the Bruschetti with goat cheese and tomato and they were delicious. They also make nice drinks. For me the interior was not really my style, I went here cause my friends chose it, but that is my personal opinion and it would not be fair to rate the place soley on my taste of interior design :-) definitely a solid choice if you are in the area but if you are looking for something more special and elegant this might not be the first choice.

Breccie is the most important meal of the day. I agree .that is why I chose here. Ducking under the blue velvet curtain, we were immediately seated by a lovely waitress. The décor was fab and quirky. Unusual art lined the walls, a large melted stalactite like candle dominated the counter, and at the far back a large white painted tree. The menu synced with the décor. I. e creative. From kedgeree to fluffy pancakes, salmon and steak. So at 10am a lobster, avocado, salmon and bacon poached eggs was ordered. and a hair of the dog cocktail to wash it down. oh and a flat white. My friend ordered the crispy bacon, poached eggs on sour dough with the pineapple swizzle. Little things like the freshly made condiments served in archaic bottles gave it that extra special touch. When the food arrived, it tasted good as it looked. For £13 mine was worth every penny. the morning after cocktails made with lemon and absinth also hit the mark. and the flat white was perfect. The service was faultless throughout and overall I really enjoyed my experience here. You must come here for breccie!!!

I loved the atmosphere in the place. The tree in the middle of the room is so cool. I had the eggs royale(smoked salmon version) and it was very tasty. Nice salmon, perfectly poached egg and good texture and flavour for the hollandaise. I also had baked beans on the side, which were nice, but I don’t really think they are easy to fuck up. I would have given 5 stars, if it had not been for the chives. A bit too much for my taste. The service was fine. I must point out the toilets too. They were nicely decorated.

We had the lobster eggs Benny, burger, and absolute fluffiest pancakes ever. Loved them all… And if you check in the condiments container on the table– have a read at their manifesto and grab some matches!

Went here for breakfast/brunch. One of the better eateries of London. I had the Eggs from Hell(£7) should have known it’s spicy, silly me, but still was incredible. I don’t normally like spicy. Coffee was whatever, decent, friend liked the pancakes. Would recommend. Oh, lovely décor. To the posh side.

We came here for brunch with 2 friends couple and we were very delighted by our choice. They do take reservation for the Sunday brunch which is a very plus side. We ordered a few cocktails and the traditional Bloody Mary which was ok. Then as food the highlight came with their High Society Eggs Benedict. They were wonderful, nicely cooked and with the lobster that add a lot of taste to it. All in all a very nice brunch, service was very nice and the setting is quite nice as well. We will come back!

If you get a chance, start by reading their manifesto. It’s rather entertaining and sets the tone for what to expect. As for whether the food lived up to their stated ethos, our group had mixed reviews. I thought it was quite good. Service was good too. So yep, 4 stars!

Okay. Before I commence this review, I have to set the scene, which may give bias to why I’m giving this place a freaking 5-star-er. Firstly. It was my birthday. This is enough to make me give anything 5 stars. Secondly, I had just moved to London, so I was feeling pretty on top of the world(you know, before the whole«why are there SOMANYPEOPLE and WHYARETHEYALLNEARME» thing set in. Thirdly, I had two glasses of Champagne, making it pretty hard for me not to be exceptionally happy at this stage. I ordered a burger. But this wasn’t just any ol’ burger. It was THE burger. The Infamous Balans Burger(cue Western music). Swiss cheese. Bacon.(Crispy Bacon!). Tomato. Dill Pickle. Red Onion. Surrounded in the arms of a brioche bun. Cusped by the sweaty palms of triple.cooked.chips. And to top it all off, a big hunky knife stabbed right down the middle. All companied with a quaint wooden box full of homemade looking jars of sauce and stuff. The staff were friendly, efficient and the atmosphere warm and happening. We sat outside beneath the heater(best of both worlds) and were happy. Oh so happy.

While visiting London we stayed at the Best Western Kensington. On the morning walk to the tube, this had good reviews and gave us a good breakfast to start off the day. We visited on a Monday morning and honestly the place was pretty empty — only one other table for breakfast. We were greeted nicely right away and given the choice to sit anywhere we would like. The service was polite and attentive whenever we needed something. We both ordered the Soho Full English Breakfast. It came with toast(choice of white, wheat or whole grain), thick good cut bacon, sausage, potatoes, two halves of a tomato that were baked and some Portobello mushrooms that were grilled. Overall it was a good breakfast. They have a nice whole grain mustard on the table that went well with the sausage and a good ketchup(not the standard one) that was good on the potatoes. I missed the traditional beans though that go with a full English. The toast was really good and I ordered the whole grain. Overall it was filling, yummy and served fresh and hot. The only issue would be the eggs as we wanted them over easy and two of the four total served to us didn’t run at all — more custardy. Not a bad place to stop in for breakfast before a day of sightseeing if in the Kensington area.

First time here, found through Unilocal.American travelers looking for fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon, this is your spot. Unfortunately we did not see the Turkish eggs on the menu, which is what a lot of reviewer recommended, but the pancakes were awesome. We did not find the menu to be overpriced at all. The interior design is very cool and hip. Would definitely go again.

Dropped in for a late night dinner(10:30pm) after seeing a show in the West End. Not many choices for late dinner near home in West Kensington. The atmosphere is super friendly and wine selection quite good. We had the Balans Burger and a Wrap. Both were really delicious and well priced. Will definitely go there again!

Best place that is a chain business for brunch. All day breakfast on offer, and the full English went down well for me and my friend. A nice simple menu with a decent selection of alcohol and fresh fruit juices. Comfortable seating and relaxing atmosphere created by the staff not giving you pressure to leave. Brunch lasted almost two hours… enjoy.

It was Sunday and I could not do roast. Not today. I wanted brunch and, my god, I found a spot. Balans serves a great American style breakfast until 5pm. And I’m talking a massive plate of delicious. You can get your normal bits of things like fluffy pancakes or crispy American bacon. I went with the Jumbo Breakfast, which had two free range eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast, an American pancake with fruit and a juice for 9.95. Damn good and a ton of food. It’s a small chain with a few spots here in London and in Miami for some reason. Great big open space with lots of comfortable seating and nice light. It’s a very relaxing and comfortable restaurant and perfect for a Sunday afternoon. We did wait a long, long, long time for service. We waited to order, for food and to pay. In fact, trying to get the bill was so bad, I actually had to walk over to the waiter, who was hanging out near the bar, and ask him for it. Not great. Still, the food was so cheap and so delicious. Next time I may just get more pancakes since they were the highlight of this overall fantastic American style Sunday brunch.
