In London, without a vehicle and a desire for unique pieces? PROBLEM.
I was poking around Gumtree looking for the odd combination of something really interesting plus a kind soul that would deliver. In my exploration I noticed a few postings from Parlour Room Interiors, so I navigated over to their web site (
) to have a little looksie myself.
WIN. Really lovely pieces, lovingly refinished in many cases, ready for purchase AND delivery (for a fee, of course).
They are open by appointment, but I saved myself the trip and just emailed directly with the pieces I wanted. John (the owner) replied quickly, updated me on the inventory and I settled on 4 pieces (all vintage!): side table, chair, teak sideboard/​dresser & a very interesting piece that fits perfectly in my entryway and looks cool but I don’t really know what to call it. But I love it. I love all of them.
The staff was really lovely to work with.
They delivered on a Saturday. On time. Into the flat. I feel I need to clarify that here because so many furniture places think «delivery» means to the lobby. No.
So, if you are looking for a few odds and ends… or even a special fixture piece, this site and store are worth a gander. Very reasonable prices for the vintage arena, indeed!
