Atmosphere is good. Food is basically overpriced airport food. Chamignon gratinee was edible. Knives were not sharp enough for the tough cut of sirloin masquerading as Entrecôte(ribeye!!) I decide to avoid dessert as the main course was quite underwhelming.

Decent restaurant in the airport. Almost seems like an oxymoron, but it’s true. A good sized group of us gathered here before heading out. Drinks were lightning fast, food was quick — and actually pretty good given the timing. Service was as expected, and not pushy at all, especially given the high likelihood of us being in a hurry. Atmosphere is as expected, it is an airport restaurant — but at least it was a little escape from sitting on the concourse. I’d go again.

So here I am at Heathrow again. I’m less familiar with Terminal 3, but Oriel looked like a nice, quiet breakfast option tucked away in a corner. Hubby and I shared the oeufs royale(eggs Benedict with smoked salmon). The food was average but fine for airport food. The coffee was above average as was the orange juice. Service was very fast once we managed to get someone’s attention. Overall, I’d visit again the next time I’m at Terminal 3.

A quick preflight breakfast called and after passing past the other options this one appealed with its enticing décor and clean appearance. After being seated quickly and then ignored for about 5 minutes we finally were able to get service. The food appeared quickly but the caffeine was slightly behind schedule. A shared Eggs Royale hit the spot — ok but not blinding. Coffee was nice as well as the fresh OJ. An ok stopping point to fuel up before flying off.

The steak was tough and gristly, a situation exacerbated by the fact that there were no steak knives available due to security reasons. Service is just ok.

Our flight was one of the latest out of Heathrow, and with a 3hr delay we had free meal vouchers and several hours to kill. The only problem was trying to find somewhere to grab some food and a drink. Oriel was the only place that would still serve us a glass of wine(although no food) at 9.30pm — it’s got a great ambience, is nicely decorated, and does a lovely glass of red. The staff were a little curt with us — and with other customers — but overall not a bad place to relax ahead of a long flight.

BEWARE!!! Some, if not all shops and restaurants, at Heathrow use a third party to convert your pounds charge to a dollars charge before posting the dollars charge to your credit card. This is done at a 1.56 dollars per pound rate when the official rate is 1.12 dollars per pound. Pay the pounds in cash or get pounds at an ATM.

Pretty decent Eggs Benedict! Looks like staff is family and they do a top notch job. Quick in and out!

Really good coffee /espresso, fast and warm service but I am afraid the food is only mediocre. Not too bad for an airport.

I recently are here and was happy with the overall experience. The service was great and the atmosphere is nice. There is also a digital display showing which flights are boarding and which gates to go to. This is very helpful and unfortunately missing from many airport restaurants and bars. The food wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great either. If they increased the quality of the food a but this place would be great. That being said, I would come back if I had done time to kill before another flight.

To mirror everyone else’s opinion – average food, decent for the airport. Also cheap bloody mary option for breakfast which was quite nice. I decided to eat here because after going to India for a week and a half I was craving BEEF and the minute steak hit the spot.

Mediocre quality food and service and I would never come if I were not trapped in an airport, but it’s pretty good for airport food!

This was a decent airport restaurant. I had great service, but the food was just average. The place makes me feel like im not inside an airport… until I look up and see the departures update monitor. So glad this is there. Like elsewhere in the UK, you can order a small or large wine. I ordered the large sauvignon Blanco BECAUSE a small glass of wine does not exist in my book. ;-) I had some mixed olives with my wine while I waited for my meal. These were good — I love olives, btw. I ordered the lamb rump with tabouleh. I love lamb, so I didn’t think about it. It was too fatty though. It made me wish I’d ordered salmon, my first choice. Overall, it was average but what can you expect in an airport?

This French restaurant exceeded my expectations via top-flight service and delectable, perfectly-portioned dishes. I had goat cheese on toast with zucchini and the beef salad, which was cooked precisely to the temperature which I had requested(well done) and was lean, trimmed and tender. Accompanied by a subtle lemonade, this was a perfect meal and dining experience.

Average food at the airport but nothing more. Best alternative I found in this part of Heathrow airport but I would never visit this place if it was a «normal» restaurant but due to the lack of alternatives Oriel deserves a recommendation

American here. I had a long layover at Heathrow recently and stopped in at Oriel for a bit of breakfast. The eggs benedict with salmon I ordered was quite good actually. Were i to judge them on that alone, I’d revise this review to 3, maybe 4 stars; which for airport dining is saying something, I think. They lose points however for the service, which was bad to the point of being comical. I sat for about 15 minutes before being given a menu, waited another 15 to place an order and another 30 for food to arrive. I had to get up and ask for silverware twice and the drinks didn’t come until after I’d eaten most of the food. At the end, none of the 4 different servers I had seemed sure of how to bring me the bill. Were it not for the 9 hour layover I had, I’d have been a lot more irritated at the slow service.

We had a 3 hour layover in Heathrow on our trip between LAX and Johannesburg. This airport is amazing and it is like a shopping mall which is a different review for a different time. So we were starving and a bit jet lagged. My internal clock was all funky and this french restaurant looked perfect. It was about 9pm but my body felt like it was morning time so I went with the Eggs Benedict. The waitress told me that there was no duck available which was just fine by me. Duck is not something that I normally order. The Eggs Benedict was very good! I like to order this dish pretty much whenever and I wasn’t expecting much from an airport but I was pleasantly surprised! The hollandaise sauce was very tasty and they gave me a good portion. I like to drown everything in hollandaise so this worked well for me. The ham was very tasty and in general, it was the best breakfast that I had all month! When we checked out, they came with the credit card machine. I did not know exactly how the tipping situation worked so she gave me the bill and ran the card and then I asked where to put the tip and she told me it was to late. Darn it I goofed it up and I only had 2 bucks on me which is like 1 buck when you are measuring in pounds. I decided to order another drink and then put the tip on there. The waitress was really cool about it and I was glad that I was able to get it sorted out.

I am, by nature, a creature of habit. I like researching and finding my favourite things, places and ways of doing things and then, confident in the knowledge that I’ve optimised my experience, repeat said experience. One of my rituals when flying out a terminal 3 at Heathrow Airport is to have dinner at Chez Gerard. So, imagine my dismay when my sister and I turned up here on our recent fight to Malaysia to find that the location had turned into Oriel Grande Brasserie After a short wander round to assess the other restaurant options, we came back here for the classic French menu It was nice to see the staff hustling as delayed service in an airport can lead to a missed flight. As an aside, it’s nice to see the restaurants display a list of special dishes where they guarantee that it will delivered within 15 minutes The menu had classic French brasserie dishes and names with English explanations underneath The best dish was my confit de canard — moist, well seasoned duck leg with crispy skin sitting atop a fricassee of beans and peas. The accompanying potato boulangere was a soggy mess though My sister’s ribeye steak was flavoursome though rather overcooked for the medium rare ordered. Her chips and bearnaise were competently produced Happily, I will be able to happily replace Chez Gerard with Oriel in my new terminal routine

Great vibe in here and fast service, but the crêpe I had was fairly gross. The peppers were overwhelming all other ingredients and were far too chewy. The salad it was served with was beautifully dressed tho, so that redeemed it a little. Expensive too :(
