So after coming to London for school, I realized I needed to buy some school supplies. Some of my classmates suggested that i go to Muji to go look for some notebooks… so we all go after class. Let me tell you the only other time I’ve seen a Muji store is in Taiwan… and I never bought anything there. This Japanese company though… they have it going on!
I went in for notebooks and I left with a bunch of household products such as 2 open top jar/​cup things, their version of a swiffer (disposable mop/​duster) (I bought both the wet and dry kind). In the end I spent around £27 not bad.
I probably will go back and buy some more stuff sometime soon. In my book A-​OK!

I love love love this store. Love.
A place for everything and everything in its place.
What a great store for your stylishly plain and simple containing merch. If you need a place shoes BAM this place has it. Need a couch that turns into a bed BAM. They got you. Need travel items. BOOM. They have it here.
A must visit.

Muji is always top of my shopping list when in the UK. If only they would expand to SF! They have a bunch of cheap knick-​knacks but also lots of cute cheap tchotchkes as well. I’ve picked up airline liquid bottles and slippers here as well as the most recent London in a bag (little wood figures of london buildings and buses). Everything here is very simple and cool in that Japanese style.
This particular MUJI is pretty big, 3 floors, but is also pretty crowded due to the location.

The Japanese are known for living in small spaces. This is the land of capsule hotels and only having and using what you need. If we all developed this philosophy then maybe the economy and the environment wouldn’t be in the state it is in now. You will not see the Muji brand dashed across your merchandise, and their packaging and goods are minimalist and focus on not wasting. This is a very eco friendly store and I am a huge fan. I have so many things from Muji, I really like their clothes and accessories. I bought a hat from here once, lost it and went back and bought the same one again. You can kit out your entire house with Muji from furniture to cooking goods, linens, and storage. They also have unique little treasures to find when you go to Muji. Muji has locations across the globe and the prices are very affordable.

(If I had to describe muji the last word I’d use is cheap. They even overcharge for small pathetic bundles Q-​tips. but anyhoo.)
If you owned nothing but muji items you’d have a very organized modern and minimalistic home. Everything would have it’s own little container, in black white grey or see-​through. This store is great at making little containers for everything and simplified nice looking items to go in them for every aspect of your life. Travel? toiletries? stationary? check check & check.
I was mad however that I couldn’t replace a poorly made product from a paris muji in a london muji. The store manager was rude & very unhelpfull. It made me question the quality of their products, so unless you live there I wouldn’t buy anything too expensive or electronic. I went from a huge muji fan to a bitter customer

Muji is a great store with nice designs that are inexpensive. This store is a bit smaller than other branches. You may be better off going around the corner to the one on Oxford St.

I never used to get the Muji thing. A lot of the time, I still don’t. But there’s two reasons I pop in here:
1. Brilliant stocking fillers and secret Santa presents at Christmas.
2. Their candles are pretty amazing.
Now, I only buy their candles in the sale, and right now my room smells of champagne and elderflower which is rather lovely. They last a pretty long time too.
This is the kind of place you can come when you feel a bit domestic and y’know, just feel like buying some stuff. (Is it just me that gets in that mood?) you might come out with a picture frame, or some colouring pencils, or a wooden model of London. Why the hell not.
Not everything you buy here will have a purpose, but it’s fun. They do have sensible home stuff too but can you tell that I’ve never paid too much attention to that?
