I can’t rave enough about the service. The people behind the counter were super nice and accommodating to me and my 18 month old and my pregnant self.
I had the Shashouka which is rare to see on a menu and had to order it. It was super good and inexpensive as well.
The café is small but while i was there it filled up pretty quickly. I noticed people ordering the full breakfast and the shwarma grilled wraps. I think that’s something i’ll have to try next time I’m in the area.
Overall a great experience and decent food for the price point. ps. Delicious hot chocolate can be found here.

I have been here a few times now and I have to say that it is a solid place to stop for breakfast in Balham. The food is quite good and they have options that are quite similar to what one can get for breakfast at a diner in the U.S. Also, they serve fairly large cups of filter coffee. Finally, the service is always quite friendly. Just note that it is cash only.

My first experience here was a year ago and since they’ve remodeled and improved all around. Thumbs up for improvements, Mr. A! The food is good and there’s healthy and no-​so healthy options so depends on what you fancy. I’ve always found the service to be good and down right friendly y’all, so pay Mr. A a visit sometime.

Mr. A‘s Bar is the greatest place in a whooole Balham! A food is delicious&healthy, staff is very nice and friendly and the place is awsome! They have a wonderfull smoothies and shakes especially Raspberry heaven! I can recommend Mr. A‘s to everyone! :) U will enjoy and come again 4 sure :)

Discovered Mr A’s 2 weeks ago when my parents were out visiting from overseas — and have already been back 3 times for their fantastic early morning breakfast special! (Mon — Sat, 7:00am — 11:30am, £2.99) The service is great, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious! I’ve tried breakfast at a few different places in Balham and Clapham but Mr A’s far surpasses any of them (cheaper and just better). I will definitely keep going back for breakfast and also can’t wait to try out their yummy-​looking lunchtime Spanish buffet special!
