While arriving with a cab, the first impression was not the best: strange entrance in quit a strange lane. Once out of the taxi, the picture completely change! Very helpfull staff eveywhere. The rooms are very big and fully equiped. The area is unique and good to go for a drink or bite. The price is not low, but worth it.

These service apartments are in the same building as the Marriott Hotel. The location right next to the West India Quay DLR, would be a lot more convenient if the DLR from the city actually stopped there before 7pm. The alternative is to get the tube or DLR to Canary Wharf which is a very confusing 10 minute walk to the apartments. The rooms were nicely furnished but strangely laid out. There is an ‘accident waiting to happen’ step UP into the bathroom, the shower stall is very narrow, although there is another shower over the bath tub. The service was quite poor, it is annoying to have 6 wine glasses, 2 champagne flutes but no water glasses. A huge dishwasher but few dishes to fill it and no cupboard space for pantry items. There was missing grout and therefore loose floor tiles in the bathroom and the laundry basket was moldy, the light wouldn’t switch off in the bedroom closets and there were big gaps so sleeping was a challenge. None of these things are terrible, but when they keep adding up they become irritating. I think the hotel side of the set-up may be a better bet, but for a long stay it is nice to have a fridge, cooking facilities etc.

My sister got married here last year. We used the outside area for drinks — champagne and orange juice, while they were preparing the area that we reserved upstairs for dinner. The drinks were lovely, the staff were friendly, they kept coming back with more champagne to fill our glasses. Then we went upstairs for dinner. There were about 20 of us seated around a large table. It was nice, but the main course(of peri peri chicken and chips) was no better than Nando’s chicken. The staff were very helpful. I didn’t try their main restaurant but my friend works there and said the food was lovely.

London Marriott West India Quay is the place where I hang out after a movie with friends more often than not. We usually get a pint of Guinness from the bar. The bar provides a comfy place for a couple of drinks. It offers quite cheap drinks too. I am not exactly sure about the price but I think it is about £3.40 for a pint of Guinness — good price bearing in mind the setting within the Marriott Hotel. It tends to be less crowded than normal pubs and bars next to the water. This is surely a fine place for drinks.

One of the nicer hotels in London, this is based in the social hub of the Wharf and offers pretty good service. Shaped like a sail going out onto the dock, the rooms are spacious and do the job for getting your rest when on business meetings! The bars are lovely and hidden away nicely so members of the public can’t get to them as easily as before. As Marriot’s go, prices aren’t too bad, service exemplary and great office facilities.

Top-Empfehlung, but check for the rates and VAT.
