I LOVE Le Pain, and typically every location is spot on, however, I’ve been to this location 3x in 2 weeks and they have gotten my orders wrong every single time. From a request of cold milk when they bring hot(twice), to a order of a hot tartin(which came practically cold), I can’t come here anymore. It’s just failed one too many times. It shouldn’t be this difficult to get orders right!

One of my favourite places to go for breakfast or coffee break. I have visited branches in: south bank, Victoria and kings Road and they all serve high quality food. The food is organic and it is evident in the quality and flavouring. The late is delicious. My favourite dishes are: organic scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, praline danish and their quiches. However, everything is yummy and you will not be let down. It does cost slightly more then the normal coffee places but is worth every penny.

After the rather excellent lunch at Wahaca, we headed here for dessert/coffee/tea. we got seated rightaway and ordered a strawberry tart, belgian waffle and a tarte tatin with cream. All the desserts were very well made and looked good too. I also ordered a double espresso and it was a very good cup. Yes, the cup, was very good; so I bought two of those cups. The coffee was good too, by the way. If I am in that part of London, I am going back! The only let down for me was, they had no ice creams and for a place that prides itself on its desserts, not having ice creams is a little sad. As with every other place, I hope, they maintain their standards and quality.

When I first heard that a Le Pain Quotidien was opening in Canary Wharf I was pretty excited. The neighbourhood is a bit of a culinary desert, so any addition to the current selection of restaurants is more than welcome. Being relatively new, the interior of the restaurant is clean and neat. They try to recreate a sort of Belgian boulangerie atmosphere, which feels a little forced. Each time I’ve visited the staff were quick to seat us, but very slow to take our order. I typically order the organic scrambled eggs with Atlantic salmon. It’s good, but perhaps a little overpriced. Their bread is fantastic and at your table you get a nice assortment of spreads. Beyond that though, this place falls flat. If you visit on weekends be prepared to have your dining experience ruined by absolutely awful children. They scream, they stare at you, they climb the furniture — it’s pretty terrifying. The service also leaves something to be desired, thus the three stars.

Standard pain quotidien fare — a good selection of brunch options, salads(the nicoise is very good) a cornucopia of jams and breads… And coffee in oversized cups. A welcomed addition to canary, where previously the main coffee shop options were starbucks and caffè brera — neither of which are particularly great to chill in for any long period of time.
