I was really impressed with this place, Middle Eastern décor and music, which also starts playing when you enter the loo’s, always a plus! The atmosphere was great and the company was sooo awesome ;-) The service was excellent, and the food, even better, I was so impressed with the menu, and in particular the most tender beef I’ve ever had, 13 hour cooked beef cheek. This was amazing, as was the chef, who loves to tell you all about his journey, really nice guy. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu, and the lovely wine.

My wife and I stumbled upon Le Menar when the Indian place next door didn’t look all that appealing. We were in for a very pleasant surprise. The waitstaff are friendly, the décor and music are nice, but the thing that stands out for this restaurant is the food. The chef, whom we met, worked for 8 years at a two-Michelin-star restaurant in Rome, and his art and craft come through in the dishes we ordered. We shared the grilled eggplant purée and pita bread starter, which was excellent. I had the lamb tagine, which came deconstructed on a plate, with tiny cubes of potatoes, grilled baby eggplant, and a generous cut of lamb that was so tender it fell apart as I cut it with my fork. Each was seasoned and sauced well. My wife had the sea bass, which was amazing. A whole sea bass, deboned, served with saffron potatoes in a beautiful presentation. Dessert was bignés and(real Italian) espresso. Top marks all around. We look forward to going back. To note: the ambience is very nice — cozy, with couches as possible seating options.
