I am a big fan of Kerala Village after happening upon one Saturday afternoon in Greenwich. I admit, the restaurant looks quite simple, however the food certainly wasn’t. I was very impressed by the obvious care and attention put into our dishes. Evidence of this when our lovely waiter who is actually from Kerala informed me that the thali we ordered would take 20 minutes, as many of the dishes needed be freshly prepared. The portions are generous — there was far too much food and all this at great value for money. The juices and lassis were sublime, and with very kind service to boot, this is a must try for locals in the area.

The food is surprisingly upbeat for being priced so humbly. The fish moilee and fish Malabar are both carefully cooked, as the coconut milk embellishes the flavor of the fish and the spices. The Kerala lamb biriyani is also delicious, with generous hints of tamarind
