This is the closest Fish & Chips place to my flat, and so on a rainy night I decided to pop over for a try. The small fish & chips will set you back around 4 pounds, but it’s in no way small. The«small» fish piece was actually rather large, and I wasn’t able to finish everything(maybe because of the greasiness?). The fish was good, not great. The fries were better than average. Overall, not a bad place — and if I find some place better close to me, it will probably not be worth all the extra journey time. Congrats Jacko’s, you’ve found yourself a new regular.

Jacko’s is a Fish and Chip shop. And it’s a damn good one. On Essex Road in Angel, it does a roaring trade most evenings. And after one visit it’s easy to see why. With a great range of burgers, fish and those fabulously English fries in a newspaper cone, all reasonably priced, it’s friendly staff always look after me. Yeah the food is greasy and predictable, but isn’t that what a good Fish and Chip shop is meant to be?
