Innocent drinks are delicious, especially the lurid green coloured kiwi smoothie but I have an extra special reason for giving Innocent 5 stars. In fact, they deserve 7 stars from me. I picked up a copy of ‘Waitrose Weekend’ newspaper for free at the Finchley Road branch. There was a competition to win one of 5 pairs of tickets to The Innocent Unplugged festival over the May bank holiday weekend. I had to buy an innocent juice at Waitrose, email a scan of the receipt and give a reason why I needed to unplug for which I composed a rhyme. I won! Travel, nor the tent was included but I bought a cheap tent for 25 Pounds. The event took place in rural Kent. There was a tent pitch and then an alleyway through the trees to beautiful flowering trees with delightful aromas. We won spa(hot tub) tickets in this area and Simon and I skinny-dipped. On the first night we had won afternoon tea with the most delicious meringues, fruits, rich cakes and savoury pastries with a bottle of Prosecco and, of course, tea. On the Sunday evening we won a three course banquet and sat next to a charming pair of young men who were very chatty even though they were with a large group. Loved sitting in the deckchairs with the strum of guitars wafting over to us in the midst of forest and no mobiles allowed. I got quite a tan although it was bone-chillingly cold Monday morning(global warming my arse!) There was a free shuttle service to/from Borough Green and Wrotham station as we didn’t have a car. As part of my prize I received a goody bag with a disposable camera, colouring pencils and many other things. The two former will be useful for creative competitions for my hobby. After arriving back at Borough Green and Wrotham station, Simon and I wandered into a park and I won two raffle prizes of a fish and chip meal which I redeemed before returning to London and a huge pair of garden shears(ideal for mum). Well done innocent. I haven’t been camping for nearly 30 years — what an experience.
