Seduced by some fantastic front of house staff and the food looked good. However it was bland, tasteless and greasy. Avoid no matter who makes eyes at you.

Don’t get sucked in by the hot sirens at the front. The food is just ok quality and bland tasting. Expensive for what you get. I’d try somewhere else if you want decent food.

I chose smoked salmon and scrambled eggs over sourdough, which came out much better than my buddy’s pork belly and green beans. Both dishes were mediocre. The Bloody Mary’s weren’t spicy and no hot sauce to be found. Service was ok.

Sat at the bar with 90 minutes to wait for a flight. Excellent staff. Good selection of drinks. Don’t know about the food as we didn’t eat. However they do have nuts which I believe are free. I didn’t check the bill. We had 2 glasses of chardonnay and one pint of lager. 20+ GBP. An easy relaxing place to wait for a plane.

Overall they were ok. I would say it’s better than most airport food. My only concern was my eggs were a smidge cooler than I would have liked.

Really poor bar. The staff are enthusiastic but have no idea what they are doing. The guy who poured me my pint went at the tap like he was trying to set an Olympic rowing best. Came out all head. I realise getting good staff at Heathrow is hard but at least train them to understand the drink they serve?

We didn’t have much time to sit down and eat but the service was very quick and the food was fresh and the sausages in particular were delicious!

This is my second time here. The first time wasn’t too good, but my hope was that it was just a one time experience. I travel through Heathrow all the time and usually go to the noodle house for a ramen. Today I wanted an unhealthy choice though, just in case the plane crashes and lots of fat makes you swim easier. The service was very polite today unlike the first time a few years ago, but the great British breakfast was not tasty at all although it was fried, soaked in oil and covered with butter. I thought it’s pretty hard to mess up the taste with these basics. The bacon was anything but crispy, the mushrooms tasted weeks old, the lancashire black pudding was dryer than the desert(it was like you have to cough up sand and dust — slight exaggeration), the was a slice of semi warm tomato and nothing was really warm except the beans. Good job on the bean! Now you might ask«what do you expect from a British kitchen?». I lived in the country for a while and know they have good food ;) Interior and service is great though. It is my number one choice for having a beer at Heathrow airport, but not for food.

This place is ok. It’s clean, nicely decorated and the service is quick. The breakfast was nice, although the bacon was a bit dry. Had a latte with my full English and couldn’t fault it. My partner didn’t like his coffee and after tasting it for myself I agreed. It was quite weak.

For airport food, this is great! Surprisingly, the prices are the same as any pub restaurant in London. I needed one last UK Fish N Chips before heading back to the US and A. The £13 Fish N Chips was definitely better than most in London, though the chips are average. £4ish a pint, but thats also typical London. Even though it was quite busy, the food came out in about 15 – 20 minutes. Staff is a bit disorganized, but friendly. I’ll definitely go back here if I’m ever stuck in Terminal 5 again.

This place is awesome! Great food and efficient, friendly service. I ordered a chicken burger today and opted for Gluten-Free bread. Score! Wifi is also extremely fast. Holla!

The greeting was the best part of my experience. Service was good for me, but I witnessed the person next to me get treated pretty poorly. The fish and chips were pretty greasy but the beer helped. Not bad for airport food.

Food is fine. Service is average. I ate here upon arrival at LHR after finding out that my connecting flight was delayed, giving me some time to have a proper meal before heading out to my final destination. When I walked in, I was greeted after a few seconds by a nice gal who asked me where I would prefer to sit. She ended up putting me in a corner where I had a view of the TV. The server was also nice, she gave me some time to sort out what I wanted and then came back with a drink for me. The food was pretty good. I opted for roasted chicken and vegetables. Overall the meal was good, but the service dropped off after I placed my order. Eventually I had to get up before someone came back to me with the bill. Other than that, I don’t have too many negatives about this place. The food was a bit pricey, the service was average and not that fast, and the atmosphere is good for waiting for a flight, having a meal or a drink, and just watching some TV. I would come back in if I was in LHR with a few hours to spare in terminal 5.

We just had a few drinks over here during our 5 hour layover. well what a teater!!! o my o my we didnt get bored… we were sitting at the bar, me and my mom, and we are just watching a little how things worked over there since we both have worked for years in the gastronomie… the place was pretty full. all the waiters were stressed out. way to many personal working over there, sometimes this can work against you if things are not properly organised… everybody who worked there looked like they were lost… we noticed the waiters all had a section of their own to attend… so some were way more busy then the others. not good organisation. also things went really wrong with bringing out food and billing… food was brought to the wrong tables, the wrong food was brought to the tables, and some food was just walking around the restaurant looking for the owner! as the waiters didnt remember who ordered it… really messy. at some point there was something going on with a young waitress and she started to cry. we were observing this and it almost looked as if her collegues were enjoying this(it seemed they didnt like this girl) the other waitresses were busy gossiping about this girl who was behind crying and let the clients wait while this was going on… not later after that a bunch of glasses felt behind the bar twice!(well that can happen but ok) then when the girl came out again(i dont know the reason why she was upset) she got herself together and continued working… i tot this girl, this waitress was doing her job better then the others, she was young and something must have stressed her out, but she wasnt doing a bad job. it wasnt my place to say something, but i almost felt like telling them to relax a bit and get organised… i was getting stressed myself! maybe i was there at a wrong day at a wrong moment, but Unilocal is to honestly review your experience so thats what ill do… the drinks were pretty expensive, but this was everywhere at the terminal the same so… the food looked really good although we didnt eat here… i dont know what for star to give this place… for the service 1 star… but for my own experience, as we were passing our time here 3 stars, so lets give it 2 stars…

We were tempted to get up and leave without paying. Does that say enough? It wasn’t that the food was that terrible — though our breakfasts were pretty sub-bar — it was the wait. The incredible, excessive wait while several members of staff repeatedly walked by and ignored us again and again. The wait for initial service and then the subsequent food was extended but not a huge deal. It was the wait once we had finished our meals. We sat with our(finished) plates for so long that I finally got fed up and deposited them on an empty neighboring table. This resulted in the plates being cleared from that table, but still no joy in getting anyone’s attention in order to get our bill. It was fortunate that we had time to spare before our flight, but if we hadn’t we would have been forced to just leave. Judging by the staff, it’s likely that no one would have noticed.

Just had the Mac n’ Beef here, very nice indeed, with a tomato and radish side salad. Worth the £12 price and very filling.

They have typical British food. If you have a few hours to spare and are hungry, this is one of the better options at LHR. Service is a bit better here compared to Gordon Ramsey’s but then again, this is a gastropub. Fish and Chips: Beer-battered cod with chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce. No fuss, no non-sense, just straight up fish and fried potatoes on a plate. I didn’t bother with the peas since I don’t like peas. The fish was lightly battered. I’ve had oily, fishy and just plain bad versions of this dish but Huxley’s version was good. 4⁄5 Roast Topside of Beef: With Yorkshire pudding, roasted potatoes, carrots, creamed leaks and gravy. The beef was tender and the Yorkshire pudding was very nice. 4⁄5 I was craving for something tart to drink so, I ordered lemonade. I guess they have a different definition of lemonade — what I got was a Sprite! Oh, well…

Tasty chicken burger and fries with horseradish mayonnaise. They do serve breakfast all day and do have a decent selection of standard English cuisine. It gets an extra star for being really kid friendly while still being okay for adults. Good place to hang out while waiting for a plane!

nice, clean, accepts USD… very helpful if you’re just connecting. I recommend Guiness and Pie and Mash(chicken)…it’s sort of like any airport somewhat fine dining place in most US airports… somewhat like a nice Appleby’s/sports bar… but with British food. I’d go back

The good thing about Huxleys is that once you have ordered your food you can get your bill and pay so once you have eaten, that’s it you can just leave. No waiting for someone to recognise that you want to pay the bill and run as you have a flight to catch. The food is nothing spectacular but it is very functional as if you are there at silly O’Clock it gives you the start you need for the journey ahead. If you have more time you can sit at the bar and relax a bit more, if that is your thing! The staff were attentive enough and the time it takes your food to arrive is good so non of that sweating about will you have enough time to eat and catch your flight. So whilst there are slightly cheaper options to eat at in terminal 5 I think for what yo pay this place is worth it.

I had the most interesting and stressful experience recently. I had a business trip coming up to Denver, Co. with a layover in London, Heathrow. All my memories of this airport were not favorable. But if you are dead set on avoiding Paris at ALL costs, then every now and again, London it is. But, as haphazard as this airport is about posting the next gate and what have you, I actually enjoyed this trip. But I’m getting ahead of myself. It all started the evening before, when I took one last look at my ticket to be sure that, yes indeed, my flight left 5p.m. only to find that no indeed! It left at 7a.m. Did I get mixed up again by the 17Uhr thing? I have no idea WHAT happened but at 10p.m. I didn’t really have time to think about it. I have never packed and organized so quickly! Taxi, get daughter taken care of following afternoon, packing gifts for family and friendsquick I was but sleep I didn’t! Well, one hour. Arriving at Hamburg airport disheveled and durchgenaechtet, I was checked in on time and all was well. Arriving at the London airport, I felt like I had just spent the night at the Reeperbahn, so it seemed so very appropriate to be having a hankering for a beer at 9 o’clock INTHEMORNING! Well, I’ve never done that before, but it was only 2 in the morning at my destinationthe night was still young. ;) Ordered myself a Kilkenny and chilled out at the Huxley’s Bar & Kitchen. Something about authentic British food made me chuckle for a second, not sure even the English really wanted that. The atmosphere was exactly what I needed after all that hectic and stress. The waiter was so friendly and so were my fellow drinkers. I greatly enjoyed their company and in no time at all I was catching my flight to the states, well sedated and quite happy. It wasn’t cheap, but that’s not really the point at an airport, now is it?
