Even though I haven’t always been able to find quite the items I’ve been looking for (I’ve gone in with some bizarrely specific requests on occasion!), the staff have always been friendly, helpful and prompt. The customer services department is also very good — whenever I’ve returned items (because I don’t need them any more, not for quality), they’ve been incredibly friendly and accommodating.
So, as with any standard Homebase, a bit pricey and generic hardware store-​ish, but great staff.

This Homebase is hit and miss. The staff also tend to be woefully unhelpful. It’s had a recent-​ish renovation and now has a few concessions (Habitat, etc.) as part of the store, but this seems to have changed what the store itself is carrying insofar as the standard selection is now less than before, but the prices are still higher than other places with similar items. On my recent visit, the temperature in the store itself was so much warmer than the temperature outside (which was a comfortable August day to be just in a t-​shirt), that it was hard to even shop. I found this bizarre.
