Admittedly, I was sceptical when my friend suggested this café for brunch. The setting is beautiful, wooden tables of different sizes at different levels amongst lovely trees and a view of the park.
The café where you order is a bit like a school canteen and the queue was pretty slow. But there’s some homely pastries on display and a small list of hot breakfast available.
We both went for full English breakfast and it came quite quickly. Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. Decently priced at £6.50 and a large portion in a beautiful setting on a sunny day. Delightful.

We had a mid-​afternoon light meal there last Saturday — (puréed) carrot soup with a hint of curry, which came with a slice of bread — and it was tasty. There’s ample outdoor seating and we took advantage of that. The bill came to 7.30 pounds.

very good coffee and lovely surroundings. Good value for money for being London as well. This used to be our regular haunt when we lived in the big smog and we were looking for a couple of hours away from the computer.
