I was there with a couple of friends in Sunday evening. lovely and cozy atmosphere and beat starters ever. The place is very small so do book a table or you’ll risk not to get seated. highly recommended.

A little gem off to the side of West End Lane — hard to miss if you know it’s there, and worth finding. We ordered some bread and a house salad as starters. The bread was warm and the salad fresh; what else could you ask for? It was a simple chopped salad, but had a nice light dressing of olive oil and maybe lemon that made it stand out. For the mains, we had one order of the grilled tiger prawns and one order of the lamb(makhsoos). The prawns were good — they were cooked, but cooked less than I’m used to, so it took a few bites before I was fully comfortable. That said, they had a really nice flavour(especially with a touch of the chili sauce!). It came with rice mixed with herbs which had a really nice flavour. I don’t eat lamb, so all I can say is that my partner really liked it. He said it was cooked simply but well. I did, however, try the saffron rice and — wow! — it was absolutely delicious. I know it may sound weird to praise rice, but I so often get served rice that’s either slightly under/overcooked, or poorly seasons, or dried out, or sticky when it’s not meant to be, etc. However, both rice dishes were perfectly cooked. And when a restaurant does the basics this well, you know you can expect very good food. Pricewise, it was fair by London standards, but a but pricier than we’d normally do — £48 for the food, two drinks, and tip. I wouldn’t call it horribly overpriced, but £25pp is a bit out of our usual price range, especially considering the simplicity of the dishes. That said, we really liked the calm atmosphere inside(it’s definitely one for a date night or for a meal with parents) and every member of staff we came into contact with was absolutely lovely. It’s definitely one to return to for a nice occassion.

I have to say, this was quite the pleasant surprise. We wandered into this tiny restaurant on a cold and rainy Saturday night(seriously folks, when does summer arrive in London!!) with the stroller and baby in tow and were greeted with a smile. The service is friendly and prompt. And the food is amazingly delicious. No, really, it is. We had almost every appetizer on the menu and a few items from the grill. Every dish was prepared with care, perfectly cooked and balanced with a lot of different flavors. We will definitely be coming back!
