The view is the reason to visit and it makes it worth it. The cocktails are good but nothing outstanding and certainly expensive.

The place itself I give 5 stars, The best view in London so far, great service and a really lovely place, still I’d like to draw attention to their cocktail list. Some of the worst cocktails I’ve had especially cause of the whole atmosphere and the price I was assuming they would be some kind of fabulous mixology drinks. I tried Silk Road. –which was the best one still nothing special it was served in a soya sauce dipping cup(which seemed strange to me) placed in a little bamboo basket which I though was sort of cute but lacking in substance, then I had the mantras which looked really beautiful but was way too spicy and creamy and strange and I like coconut milk and turmeric, those cocktails were fine but I wasn’t impressed, finally we ordered the koala main course which is the worst cocktail we’ve ever been served it was like some strange black elixir with green foam on top that tasted bitter sour and spicy all at the same time it was horrible I felt bad for my friend cause she had to finish it and even the waitress agreed that it was a terrible drink, for the high end quality this bar is trying to propagate they really need to re-evaluate their recipes and possibly presentation of drinks

A bottle of champagne with some good girlfriends and the most spectacular view of the city available. What’s not to love? Prices are high. Waits can be long. Service can be perfunctory. But it’s worth the price of admission.

Great views, Nice drinks and creative tapas! It was a good night however the stuff was a bit weird at times… For example, when me and my friend went out for a cigarette, the security guy from ground floor followed us all the way to our table on 52nd floor as if to check we were really customers of the bar! Not very subtle and he might have not had the intention to appear so but the perception of being followed was uncomfortably left. The waiting stuff was not the most attentive, I had to look for them a couple of times as they weren’t immediately available. Also, our first tapas took ages to arrive. The second round of drinks and food came surprisingly … much quicker. It would have been better if they told us that they are going to be delayed. Overall, it was ok and would definitely go back because of the views. I would love it even more if the stuff appear to be more attentive(ready to take orders and appear to be more courteous). I want someone who can make my experience the best — recommend drinks, ask whether I would like food/snacks even before ordering, recommend even corners for pics :) after all, I’m there because it’s the 52nd floor!

What a fantastic place to have a drink and take in the views of London. Sure it’s not cheap, but the service is great and the bar snacks are good and did I mention the views? Make sure you use the toilets up there you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise.

There is no better view of London that being at the Shard and sitting inside Gong. The cocktails are far from classic but who cares. I didn’t come for the cocktails. Bookings are no longer accepted so it is good to come on off-peak times such as a Sunday. There is also a minium 30UKP per person spend.

If you’re a tourist in search of a trip to the clouds(preferably on an as clear-sky-as-possible sunset), ride up to the GONG Cocktail bar. The place fills fast, noticeably with tourists. The view knocks the wind out of you, especially and unexpectedly from the bathroom… wash your hands and forget to wipe them dry as you gawk at the stunning view. I am especially pleased with the exotic interior decoration, a traditional elements meets contemporary concept aesthetic. While the menu appears amusing with it’s alcohol-drink take on traditional Asian teas, warning the cocktails are hardly worth the price(I guess we should expect to be ripped off at this point). I had the Shuanglong, which is cocktail fusion of Pa Poo tea, vodka and elderflower juice… and it disappoints. The description really set my expectations for an inspiring complex sip, and instead all I got was a simple, one-hit flavor. Furthermore, the waitresses lack knowledgeable about the menu and even served one of our party the wrong drink. Definitely a one-time visit.

Being on the 52nd floor of the Shard, Gong bar offers amazing views of iconic buildings in the City. A minimum spend of £30 per person on drinks and tapas snacks will secure a window table for 2 hours. With cocktails priced at £17, the minimum spend can easily be covered. We dropped by for quick drinks after lunch at Ting restaurant on level 35 so sat at the bar which faces North towards the Gherkin & the Walkie Talkie building. Will be back for cocktails to enjoy more impressive views at night or sunset!

HEATEDTOILETSEATS! Also dangerously comfy cushions to sink into, impressive views(except you don’t get to see the Shard obv, and actually I’m not sure why the sofas around the edge of the room all face inwards instead of out hmm…), spendy cocktails that make this a special treat only(£15-plus), surprisingly tasty seaweed crisp munchies that arrive with them, and some very pretty front of house staff. Make a reservation beforehand, and keep an eye out for people leaving to ask to swap to a window seat if you don’t get one. Maybe I was just enjoying my date too much but I would have liked it to be slightly darker and more intimate in there too — I found it a little bright. Trust me though, no matter how well your date is going or not, it’ll be the feeling when you sit on that toasty warm toilet seat that will make your night… ;)

The Gong Bar on level 52 of the Shard is a real treat. The views are spectacular and the drinks extremely well made, with many twists on the classics. It all comes with a price though but as as far as treats go it’s one to remember.
