Galpão

Yum, yum, yum! The fresh pineapple juice was a perfect compliment to the generously spiced and wonderfully cooked rump steak. We shared the two house specials and found all the food to be fresh and cooked to perfection. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. The couple that own the place are lovely and really help to make the dining experience a good one. Will definitely be going back!

I went on a bit of an adventure recently by wandering down the Harrow Road towards Harlesden. I usually get as far as Kensal Green Cemetry and only know this stretch from occasional bus or car journeys along this busy route.
Walking into Galpao is like walking into a different world and even though I have never been to Brazil I am sure this is a very authentic experience (probably mainly due to a Brazilian news channel playing in the background). The place is busy with diners and people ordering takeaways. As I am not familiar with Brazilian food I opted for a selection of tapas sized dishes. On reflection I should have tried one of their set meals — I had food envy when I saw everyone else’s combinations of meet, chicken or fish which were served with rice, beans and salad.
The service was particularly welcoming and I will definitely return on my next excursion into this neck of the woods.
