I feel a bit mean giving this place 3* as there was definitely nothing wrong with it its just there was nothing exciting or special. Standard bar with cocktails, beer etc all at a reasonable price. There is also a happy hour with 2 Stella’s for £5 and £5 cocktails. The décor is a bit much for me with dark coloured plush fabric on the seats and the music was a little on the loud side for Thursday at 6.30 but service was friendly and our desperados slipped down a treat while we nattered away. Not one to avoid but also not one to go out of your way to find!

I do love a good Exit, and so far I have had two very different experiences in Exit Bar; allow me to take you through them — Wednesday night, met my cousin who fancied a drink and a chat, stumbled across Exit Bar, and specifically their Happy Hour which I believe was until 9pm. Had a couple of great cocktails and some dreamy happy-hour beer yayy. All-in-all nice and relaxed, nice drinks everyone’s a winner, staff are friendly, good tunes though a little loud considering there was only about 10 people in that night! Second night — flatmate and I left another bar about 10:30pm and were looking for a place for that elusive«one last drink». Remembering my first experience at Exit I took us there, called in but alas was told they they were indeed shutting up for the night — boo. However, as we turned around to walk away, a pretty girl(additionally because she then said the followin’) stuck her head out the door and said«D’you guys want a shot?»! Wooh! How could I say no to that. Cue shots and a beer before they actually finally closed but we had a nice chat with the lovely ladies before eventually getting kicked out. Will I be back? Pretty girls aside, of course :)

I went there with some Friends on Saturday night and we had some lovely cocktails :) The cocktails menus seems great and I want to go back there and enjoy some more! The place wasn’t very busy when we went there(no one needed to be standing but almost every table was taken) and we were able to enjoy sitting on a sofa and have a nice chat whilst sipping our drinks. Staff was friendly and served drinks quickly and well at the bar. The place itself looked nice(I just got confused — maybe due to the previous drinks — with the name of the place above the door and I was looking for an entrance door — duh!!) and was clean, including the loos.

Thursday afternoon. I was hanging out with some friends trying to look for a nice place to have some drinks. We were walking through Brick Lane when we found this place. Happy Hour time, yeah! 2 bottled beers for £5. It was a good deal. So, we went inside. It was almost empty but we though: who cares? we just want to catch up. So, we got a table quickly and we ordered some beers. I have to say that this place has the most attentive and sweet staff. They are so nice! They made us feel like home. Since it was happy hour, all of us ordered two drinks for each. We paid for the drinks and they kept some of the beers in the cooler. We spent £10 pounds each and we ended up almost drunk hehehe In the meantime, a lot of people came to have dinner and drinks. By 20:30 it was full house! Great atmosphere. The staff was really busy, but as I said, they were so nice with everyone. We were chatting with them for a while and they brought us fries for free. We had such a good time because of them! The decoration and the place itself is not fancy or really ‘hipstery’(you know Shordeitch, so ‘too cool for school’). But we didn’t mind at all. We are not cool people! We just wanted to have fun and I think this place is perfect for that. I’ll be back for sure. One of the waitress told me they play live music a couple of days per week, so I’ll come back with my friends. Besides, I would like try their food menu as well. I truly recommend this bar to everyone!

I don’t know who the DJ thinks he is, but my mind was pretty much blown every time he played a song, and EVERY time it was a total 90s hip hop JAM– and this went on for HOURS. I couldn’t stop dancing if my life depended on it. Combine this with cheap drinks PLUS a free shot with every drink, AND a cute English bartender who complimented my «American accent» … and yeah, I’m a fan.

i was only here for like 20 minutes so i’m probably not reeeally qualified to give 4 stars but they made a really good mojito and the bartenders were friendly so whatevz! i came on a friday around 10:30 and it was reasonably full(as in there were people sitting at every table, but nobody standing) and we joined another table which was cozy and fine since we left after one drink. i guess it gets more crowded later on. it was a good pit stop though — i’d def come back

Tini tiny place, but yeah, it does the job. open a little later than some on the Brick Lane, so tend to glide over there as a bit of an after spot, but pretty decent tunes, drinks not too bad either.

Tiny place + decent music + great cocktails = good times! I’ll make this brief and just say SWEDISHORGASM. No, that’s not what I think of the cute blonde bartender… it’s my favorite martini they whip up. It’s why I go back again and again and again and again…

I decided to check out Exit on a Friday night which seems to be the wrong time to go, or the right time, depending on your point of view. It’s a tiny bar, leather cushioned seats and low tables line the edges of the bar, but on a busy weekend night don’t hold out much hope of getting yourself a seat, or a space in the bar at all for that matter. When I wandered in, or pushed my way in, the tiny bar was crammed full of people all shouting over the music. Quieter during the day but this seems more of a night time venue, the dark décor only really seems suited for late night antics.

If you’re idea of a great night out is to be in a place where the music makes your ears bleed, you stick to the carpet and the walls sweat then Exit is just the ticket for you. I went once and felt very ill, lots of completely mashed people bashing into you, chewing their faces and contributing to the wet walls. By day, this is a nice place to pop in for a drink, the large windows at the front open and it feels really chilled. It’s just best to aviod it by night, and once you’ve seen the debauchery that happens in the wee small hours its difficult to relax in there. Yuck.

I had a great night here on Saturday. We had just had a massive curry on Brick Lane and needed a seat to digest on nearby. The bouncer talked us in, convincing us of it’s greatness, he was right. The music was great, I like house music so it suited me perfectly. Also they had drinks specials which is always good news for a broke student like myself; I had mojitos for £5.50 and they were really good, they even used proper Havana run, none of the usual cheap stuff. One whole side of the bar is lines with leather couches so we hovered around them until a group of people left then we dived straight in and managed to keep them the whole night. It isn’t a great place for dancing but it suited us that night. The toilets downstairs were good too, no queuing which is always a bit of a gem. I’d go back here drop of a hat.

Bricklane with its many curry houses and vintage stores is a buzzing exciting place to be! Exit is a bit further down from 93 Feet East and Vibe bar. A narrow venue scattered with table’s sofas and chairs. A very comfy place for coffee and chilling during the day, catching up with friends or just reading the papers. However in the evening a different story. The bar is situated in the middle of the venue with tables opposite with bar stools — just be careful not to slip off them — I did! The DJ box is at the back of the venue with a small floor space for dancing. The music here is usually DJ but sometimes they have little live bands. A very fun busy place. I often enjoy it after a meal in brick lane or as ‘last drink before I go home…’

If you’re looking for a place to relax of a Friday or Saturday eve then forget the Exit Bar. It’s a small narrow bar that knocks out some funky electronica, techno, and minimal electro with some eclectic vocal and percussian stuuf throen in for good measure. They have a top selection of cocktails although they are pricey but it’s a good place to fall into if you want to keep an intimate party going on after hours. During the day it’s much more subdued offering up some Italian bites, there’s better venues and food on Brick Lane but for the wee hours it offers some real good music.

For a brick lane bar, this place does what it says on the tin. You may enter, but you will exit(inevitably of course, but sooner than you would if you were having a good time) Pun over, let me summarise this place. In ten years, I have no doubt that brick lane will be one long mile of places like this. Devoid of the cultural input which has made it cherished, it will be just one more anodyne location in a city gorging on culture and shitting out mediocrity in return. Welcome, join up! Sign your name on the card that says death to the beauty of an cultural and ethnic gem. Be a part of the genocide and drink Smirnoff Ices whilst you do it. Imagine if Hitler had managed that onthe BundeDeutscheMadel posters! But I digress… Let’s get to basics, this bar is more enjoyable than the shitty locations up the road so beloved of Australians ejaculating their slovenly earned cash and trendies and their acolytes simulating what should be a good night(let’s not forget in the most jarring vocal tones, also.) Of course it’s only more enjoyable if you are wanting to avoid all that, rather than embrace. Forced as I am by the location of my abode to partake, i find myself enjoying Exit on occasion. A man with bongos accompanies the Dj, oblivious to his ludicrousness, on a saturday night. Drinks are the usual, la la, you know the drill. etc. etc. Enjoy, hate, so be it. Such is life, so it goes…

exit is a tiny bar in the heart of brick lane, a bit in the middle between the tea places just a few steps towards liverpool street and the pubs right before. literally, and also in terms of style. with a wannabe trendy décor, exit offer coffes and teas that used to be cheap but are not so any longer. then you may have drinks as in a pub. music is varied above all. they host house, minimal, rock and many other types of evenings through the week, but always closing reasonably soon. it is indeed a good option for a swift one, specially on sundays, when a great atmosphere reigns the place.
