Very helpful folks, a young gentleman named Tom was patient with me when I was in a bind.
They stock Hoy bicycles and a good selection of accessories (seat + frame bags, locks, pumps, etc).

Not a big store, but they have a very friendly staff and helped me find a bike I wanted at another Evans Cycle store in London. I recommend taking the class on maintenance — it is free. Also, if you are a member of the London Cycling Club (LCC), you get 10% off.
Credit cards: Accepted, but they don’t accept American Express.

If there was ever an constructor’s world championship for bicycles, there is no chance in hell that Evans would even come near the bottom end of middleness.
I’ve had my bike for 10 days now and it already needed 2 services– first the front brakes were rubbing the wheel and then today the gears decided that they might go on strike so all the other cyclists were staring at mad little me swearing like a sailor and begging the bike to choose «any f!@#ing gear and try to stay on it for more than 2 seconds»
I understand that bikes need breaking in but this is beyond ridiculous.
Expensive, vanilla and cannot even build a bike properly. So, Evans, I will ask you the same question that I’ve been wondering for the whole F1 season. Like Virgin, Hispania and Lotus why the hell are you here? You are only heading for the inevitable destiny of failure and embarassment. Lucky it doesn’t get televised across the world.
