I was riding to Hyde park and noticed my tires were flat. I looked up some bike shops on the way and this was directly on my route. They were extremely welcoming and friendly and fixed up my bike in a matter of minutes, along with some other necessary tweaks(my handlebars were loose). I would definitely recommend this bike shop and I will come back if I have any more bike troubles. Thank you to the kind person who serviced my bike!

The best cycle shop on my daily commute. Sure, it’s not a five-star independent workshop with local love, but it’s good for what it is. The staff know what they’re doing and on my last visit they fitted my new free-wheel for… free. They are packed to the rafters(literally) with day-glo and lycra cycle clothing and accessories. These are obviously the easy sellers with big margins here in London. I really wish they weren’t. Why do half of London’s cycle commuters treat every day like the Tour de France?

I went there thinking that I was going to get a good level of service. After buying a brompton bike, I took it to them after two weeks with a problem with one of the threads on the bolts. They immediately claimed it was user error and did nothing to help me. Their only choice was to get me to pay their mechanic £20. Ridiculous — I would avoid these guys.

Only ever came in to pick up bits and bobs. The people are nice here, first time I came I needed a back light and the guy went through the pile and picked one out that hasn’t got an «updated price mark» so I got it £5 less. Second time, they helped me fix a bracket(unfortunately said bike light bracket did not survive being transferred) on my impossible to fix on bike(because it is so big and I am so short). I did think they were super duper overpriced– £15 for the light was decent– the«real» price of £20 would be extortionate and £5 for a measly bit of rubber is just plain ridiculous. If you can’t make it to EJ Barnes and can stand the super sarcasm of cyclecare, then go there; apart from the super sarcasm, they are cheap and do a decent job.

Quick Update: Rode my bike over the weekend and the work done was of good quality — bike feels nice and smooth. Unfortunately the fact that they tried to slip in an unnecessary inner tube still leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. Use them but beware of over-zealous part selling…
