El Nido is a friendly, old fashioned Spanish restaurant in Wallington, Surrey. I have vistied the restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the food and hospitality. Every evening the restaurant does a three course meal deal for £13.95. Dishes I’ve had there include the house pâté, a rich chicken liver pâté served with toast, Steak Diane, Veal in wine and cream sauce and trout. All dishes were superb. El Nido has a dessert trolley and choices vary from week to week. One thing that doesn’t ever go off the dessert trolley is something called fruit brulee — probably stunningly bad for you, but tastes fantastic. It is a mixture of cream, sweet fruits, alcohol and caramelised brown sugar. The service is prompt and friendly. You will probably need to book a table most weekends and it can be packed particlularly on Saturday’s.
