AMAZING! Drake’s is my new favorite London restaurant. The food was innovative and delicious. I don’t even understand how they assembled such wonderful flavors, but this was a magical experience. The wine was excellent as well. We enjoyed a Tempranillo which nicely complemented, but did not surpass the food. I have never had cauliflower prepared with such perfection and the cous cous was complex and delightful. I wish this were more affordable on my student budget, but the price is worth it for special occasions and the occasional treat! Simply fantastic!

The service was unfortunately distracted and rushed. The waitress assumed I was only having only one tapas, whilst I was choosing my second but being hasty to your customers never creates goodwill. Our candle was removed from our table to be lit then replaced on a different table where no one was sitting. A small point, but I love candles, don’t remove them whilst someone is at the table. The food in contrast was delicious. My friend ordered the potted mackerel, the last time I heard of something potted was probably in an Enid Blyton story, however, I am glad I tried a bite. It tasted brilliant; he also ordered the Israeli couscous which was a beautiful colour, very vibrant. I ordered the petite iberico pork burger and the crispy squid. The burger was sublime. I would have happily had as many more as I could have consumed. The squid was mediocre, the lime wedge helped. We demolished a brilliant cheeseboard between us, which came 4 cheese and interesting accompaniments such as caramelised walnuts(not enough in my opinion — it was gorgeous) and several tapas later we were full. The house red Albizu was surprisingly tasty and worked well with all we had ordered. It was a lovely meal, despite the somewhat brusque waitressing and having to begrudgingly pay the automatic service charge.
