Very poor customer service. The first time I went to this café with my husband, we had reasonable customer service, even though we thought the food was overpriced for what it was. You can definitely find the same type of food for cheaper in central London. But we live in Greenwich and wanted something fairly quick to eat. My 2nd visit was terrible. I asked for tap water while ordering my food. I was halfway through my meal before the waitress finally told me(after I had to nudge her twice more for my tap water) that there is no tap water due to some work being done(how do they cook the food without any tap water or wash their hands?). She told me I could buy a bottle of water and then walked away without even waiting for a response. When she was walking by I told her I will buy a bottle of water. If this were a decent place with good customer service, you would think that they would give the bottle of water for free(simple plastic bottled water, nothing special), but no. I didn’t want to have to pay £2 for something that should have been free. Upon asking for the bill, I told the waitress that I felt I should at least be offered a discount, as I didn’t want to have to pay for water. She told me that even if they had brought me tap water, that it would have cost me 50 pence. I have never been to a restaurant that charges for tap water, not even the nicer Michelin star restaurants I have been to in London, such as Trishna in Marylebone. Absolutely ridiculous. I was told by the waitress that the 50 pence charge would have been for the service and the use of the glass. Seriously? After speaking to another man who works there(not the owner), she told me she would charge me £1 for the bottle of water. This place deserves 0 stars for customer service. And maybe 3 stars for the food if you are being generous.

Great place for brunch on a lazy Sunday! Not so pricey and not so pretentious, but the service was really great. Especially liked the frankfurter and the fact that they even have kids’ menu.

I go to this café every Sunday without fail. This possible the past café in London. Here a few reasons: 1. The premises are so clean 2. The staff are so friendly and will cater to your every need 3. Their prices are very reasonable 4. The quality of the food is excellent 5. The location is brilliant Adding to the above, they not only do greasy spoon but they do pizza, seafood, kebab and they have an alcohol licence. Not forgetting, they play good radio music and there are a variety of newspapers to hand. What else could you ask for because I can’t find anything!

Despite it’s fancy(?) name, this is a greasy spoon by day and kebab house by night. And my goodness they look after me. A drunken night in Greenwich always ends up here. It has to. It would be rude for it not to. That’s when people see the sleepy little town for what it is. It’s messy. All that quiet politeness has been hidden away until now. After midnight it’s strewn across the floor with bits of salad in it. The guys in here are great. Really friendly but without ever hitting on you.(Why do guys in takeaways ALWAYS hit on you?). They’re friendly and don’t get annoyed no matter how drunk you are. Believe me, in six years of living in Greenwich I’ve really pushed their patience. Better say sorry here. Sorry guys. I always have more luck with them as a kebab house thn a greasy spoon, but every few months my mate comes home from China and we can be found on a Sunday with a full breakfast and a copy of the Sun any visions of me as a classy girl have just gone out the window. Oh well. It’s great here.
