Costa Coffee

This Costa Coffee is ideally located on my way to the London Eye. I decided to stop by a few days ago after an appointment at the NatWest accross the street. Ordered the christmas Gingerbread latte and becaus i was in a hurry, i didn’t check my coffee. You can imagine my surprise when 50m later i take a sip and taste… milk. Only milk. Well, i was not to happy and threw it away for i am not a 4 years old girl. Later that day i had to go back this way and told them what had happened. After a quick chat with the manager (who just happened to be here) they offered to make me a new one quite reluctantly (which i did not appreciate, you simply do not assume your client came all the way back and is lying to your face).
All in all the staff is nice and the coffee shop offers quite a lot of sitting. They have a pastries display that looks appealing and the coffee was good.
I recall they have free wifi.

Went here Sat. afternoon and then again on Sunday morning. The Sat. afternoon visit was less-​than-​gratifying because the guy behind the counter was a bit snooty. All we did was ask a few questions about their coffee («what’s flat white?»). The next morning we got some baked goods and coffee, and compared to what you pay in a hotel for breakfast, this was better and cost less.

I like this Costa Coffee simply because the staff that work there are really nice. I wish I had noted their names — perhaps I will in an update. But the service is very personalized, they remember I like chocolate (!) and are always eager to be friendly and provide suggestions and recommendations if you are undecided. It’s pretty small though, so you have to be pretty stealthy if you’re after a seat at lunchtime.
Everything on offer is typical Costa fare, my favourite is the chocolate block tray cake thingy, which is pretty awesome, particularly on a dark Winter day!
If you need a coffee and are in the area, this is worthy of a visit.

This was our morning home base when we stayed at Tune Hotel next door. Great place for a hot drink and breakfast pastry. Bathrooms on site.

Standard Costa operation, the staff can be friendly or cool or a bit spazzed out, but whatever. The coffees et al are what brings me in the door.
Wish there was wifi…

New location (it doesn’t yet appear on the Costa website or the Google Earth image), but it’s standard for a Costa. Cooler of sandwiches and drinks, a display of pastries and cakes, and quickly prepared coffee. I really enjoy the flat white and the one I had here was very good.
Sadly, no wifi in the store or even a nearby signal to ‘borrow.’
