Seemed like a nice little pub. I spent several hours here with mate. The staff appear to be Spanish; nice and friendly and some of their friends seem to have come in at one point. I did not try the food but I watched several tables order and consume dishes off the menu with apparent gusto. While it was raining it stayed fairly quite but once the rain let up it got crowded but not too much. As a Yank and a tourist, I felt it was an excellent way to spend an afternoon and enjoyed myself. My mates OTOH had to pop outside to smoke so they may disagree. And yes, the baths are clean — I inspected them personally several times during my visit. =;^)

Ale is ok. Quiet pub. Nothing special. Good if you fancy a chat without having having to shout!

Popped in after needing a respite from the holiday shoppers on Oxford St. I was immediately struck by a foul odor. To be fair, I’m not sure if it was the pub or some patrons… but it was definitely omnipresent. It’s not a big place and was pretty tight already at 6 p.m. on a Fri. — simply with post-work punters and not the nearby toursits. The wait staff were nice and in an extra buzzy mood as it was charity night and they were all in pajamas asking for donations. I didn’t stay long due to overcrowding/lack of seats… plus I was hungry and although the place seemingly offered food, nobody was eating and I couldn’t steal a look at the portions. Not bad, but not a place I’d go out of my way to enjoy either.

This pub is close to the office which makes it a good option for post-work drinks. What makes it even better is that it doesn’t have the crowds and large groups that other nearby bars have. The food is average and drinks prices what you’d expect, but it’s a cosy pub with plenty of room upstairs if there’s a few of you.

Another old man pub, this one planted on Wigmore street just east of Dover Street markets. It’s a pub, plain and simple, and a fairly small one at that. Even at 7pm on a Tuesday evening I was luckily to snag a couple of seats for a pre-Ramen drink. Sadly, I feel that this is a prime example of a old man boozer succumbing to new age labour markets(labour as in a workforce on one of our vaunted political parties). Instead of the jolly bar maid slinging pints, you have eastern Europeans whose English seems limited to giving you a price. In all fairness, I wouldn’t want to be stuck behind the bar there either. A pint of Strongbow(I gave up on the Bulmers after 3 tries… maybe my accent was too much?) costs £3.50 which is a bit cheeky I think. Food, as far as I could tell, was limited to bags of crisps and nuts and potentially some lamb sausage if the chalkboard was accurate. Overall, probably wouldn’t be back as there are a couple much nicer pubs just around the corner. But the benefit is you will get served immediately at the bar, although you may not be sure what you just ordered!

Okay, I was a tourist at this spot, so my review might not be what the locals are looking for. But from a tourist point of view, this place is only a few blocks from Oxford street, and mostly locals go there… to us it was a perfect London pub experience. We found it on accident… we were lost… We didn’t eat there, but the people were friendly, people know each other in the pub. Beers were cheap on tab. It was a great night.

Decent pub close enough to but far enough away from the crowds of Oxford st. Cup final on, some pissed idiot barges into another and it’s stand off handbags stuff. Some people should just chill out…

Dropped in for a quick dinner and a drink after work. I would have looked for another spot for food, but I was too hungry and too tired to look around for somewhere else. Ordered the meat/potato pie and a London beer. Eh, they were okay. The ambiance is very laid back. Quiet place to relax with a drink with a friend or just catch the game on the tele.

Pretty outside, cosy interior with beautiful old pictures/prints. Quite a decent, traditional-looking pub with a pleasant atmosphere. The friendly barmaid spoke not much English. Coming back from the toilet(level) my half-empty beer was already cleared away. Don’t worry, I got a new one. Three of the four handpumps were supplying real ales.

Decent little pub a short walk from Oxford Street. They do a range of good food at lunch time and also have a large screen sky tv. Good location and a good place for a few quiet drinks in the day time.

A great pub with a great atmosphere. We all filled the pub up to breaking point on Friday night and ran the staff off their feet! Needless to say I’m sure we made them a bit of money too! It has everything a good pub needs — TV screens, outdoor seating, crispsit’s all about the crisps!
