So I booked up this company for my recent May birthday, got a decent deal on a group booking and it was a swift 35 minute commute from Liverpool Street. I’m rather greedy around birthday time, pumping out two events one aimed at more generic boozing/socialising and the other more random sporty themed. Last year was Go Ape, this year… well you can work it out ;-D So nearly 20 trekked down to Sawbridgeworth on the train or by car, where we were picked up by Olly in a land rover/army-type truck. Once on-site, we were debriefed although there was constant reference to the women having to wear a special shoulder pad in anticipation of the gun dislocating a shoulder. I found it all quite amusing, but a couple of the ‘tougher’ girls wanted to fire sans protection ahem So we given a series of 50 bullets in total, my aim ranged from bloody awful when sober, to a firm 8⁄10 after a cheeky bottle of Cava was sneaked into the enclosure. Don’t copy me kids! The event itself was well organised, and despite not being cheaper at 42 bananas per head, the weather was picture perfect and I loved the thrill on the clay pigeon chase, and the steamy stench of the gunpowder. For something truly different and rural, this beats a round of golf!
