Really yummy food! The fried halloumi was excellent and went really well with the grilled bread they had on offer. As a main, I had the grilled quail. The small birds were marinated and grilled and had just the right level of salt so you got a bite of smoky saltiness every now and then. My partner had the grilledlamb which was perfectly cooked and still a little pink inside. The mains came with an assortment of salads: grilled onions doused in some type of vinegrette, rocket with red cabbage and carrots and slivered onions tossed with spices and parsley. Fabulous sides to go with the meat. The one drawback was the service which was incredibly slow. I think at least 30 minutes went by between our starters and mains. Not a huge deal in the greater scheme of things but something you definitely noticed!

First rate turkish establishment. Grilled meats are fine — (we had lamb two ways and were happy two times) but for my money things get better when you get AWAY from the grill. Meat with sauces is better than plain old meat — even with a fine marinade. Eggplant with tomato is knock your socks off … and eggplant with tomato is same old same old in most other Turkish establishments. Order some veggies — eat some yogurt and be very happy. But the grill is perfectly lovely — thank you. very much.

I love restaurants that — in addition to good food — have friendly and helpful staff. It was one of those dreary, rainy and cold London winter days and when I entered Cirrik during an early lunch-time, I surprised the waiter while he was eating his lunch before the rush hour. He was eating some kind of soup and immediately knew that I wanted that too! I asked him what it was and he said that this was the kind of soup that his Mum made for him on cold days like this… well perfect! The soup, which was a rice-yoghurt soup with oregano and chili sauce, arrived shortly after and it was really what I needed at that time. I was served warm bread and a typical side salad along with it.(Update: a Turkish Unilocaler saw my photo of the soup and sent me the following compliment: my favourite soup. name is «yayla corbasi ;) Once I’d finished my soup, the nice waiter approached me again and inquired if I wanted anything else to eat. I asked him to recommend something to me and he said that being from Adana originally, he’d recommend Adana Köfte. The raw köfte went onto the grill and after they were done the arrived on my table… along with a few more side salads: onions in a reddish sauce as well as an onion-salad. All was very delicious. True to Turkish hospitality, I finally received a Turkish tea, which rounded up my meal quite nicely. So, if you’re willing to entrust yourself to the staff when it comes to food recommendations, you’re in good hands here!

This is my favourite Turkish restaurant in London. It doesn’t look like much from the outside. Or from the inside for that matter. However, the food is fantastic. I could eat their Beyti dishes until part of my lower intestine explodes and then I’d carry on eating. This is all reflected in the number of customers. When I first went here a year or so ago, the place was empty bar a few old fellows in the corner. Now the place is chock full of hipsters. Oh Dalston…

Spectacular! Fresh, great sauces, My love has traveled to Turkey a lot… he said: Hands down the best Turkish grilled meat dishes. BAM! No really! Friendly people, easy dress code(cause its more like a fancy kebab joint than a «white linen napkin» restaurant. Why!!! Is this not in the city!!! Fak!!!

I live locally and have methodically eaten my way through all the local turkish restaurants this one is the best in my opinion and even if you are not a meat-eater, they have a selection of veggie main courses and also plenty of veggie mezze. Never had anyone I’ve taken there not love it. It’s small though and the downstairs room lacks atmosphere. Do take cash though as the card machine seems to be temperamental(although was working last night)

A heaven for meat lovers. You may not find a queue but it’s quite busy and you may have to wait ~45 mins for the food. It is a BYO but has a corkage of around £5. The meat is very juicy, nice and soft — absolutely amazing but I saw them grilling it with generous amounts of butter. That explains the great taste and softness of the meat but not good for your arteries if you are a healthy food freak!

I’ve tried this place twice now… the second time only because Mangal had an enormous queue… and I’ve been really disappointed both times. On my first visit I ordered a chicken dish in a yoghurt sauce and found it rather nasty — I wonder if it was sheep’s yoghurt… On my last visit I played it super safe with a minced chicken kebab with garlic and parsley. It tasted horribly strongly of lamb, I imagine because it was cooked right next to a lamb kebab on the charcoal… I loathe lamb. It was inedible. Rather hilariously the bill came — without word — with a handwritten note to say they weren’t taking card payments due to connection failure. Not really the point at which to ‘announce’ this. Absolutely not ‘the best Turkish in London’. Mangal 2 is much better. And Mangal as well for that matter.

Simply the best Turkish restaurant going. This is the original 19 Numara Bos Cirrik. We really appreciated the hospitality here — staff were genuinely happy to serve us and all the other lucky diners on Wednesday evening. Ingredients are fresh and portions are very generous(in addition to your main or starter there are additional sides provided as a matter of course.) The delicious bread had me eating more than I should have — but was great to soak up the sauces. The excellent reviews this establishment garners are justly deserved. Will definitely be back ourselves and recommending to others.

One of my favourite places to eat Turkish Food(the other being the Premises) and very much the best along the strip of hundreds in Dalston. Although I don’t think their cold meze is very good, a starter is almost not needed as the mains are absolutely huge. The chicken shish is delicately spiced and arrives with two strips of meat, ample rice, onions and various salads. Also their bread is always very tasty and great at soaky up tasty juices. It’s not cheap(a shish is about £10) but it’s very tasty and the meat is good quality. You can bring your own alcohol although there’s a £5 corkage charge which seems a bit steep

Oh boy these great reviews are going to make 19 Numara Bos Cirrik even busier. Hopefully this won’t go to the owners heads such that standards drop and they rest on their laurels. I haven’t been to every Turkish restaurant in London, but like some of the other reviewers I would agree that this is probably up there with the best of this genre. Smoky grill as someone else points out, watch your food being cooked, and if it’s winter enjoy the blast of heat if you are sitting close. In the summer just wear a swimsuit because the place gets incredibly hot! Part of the reason 19 Numara Bos Cirrik is good is, I believe, the culture of the owners and staff. They want to have a successful business. There is a preference for freshly prepared food. The service is genuine and very hospitable, not cloying, false or over-attentive as can be the case where a society has less of a tradition for hospitality. Portions are generous and if starters as well as mains are ordered, all but the heaviest eaters will be sending food back on their plates.

My friend recommended this best kept secret to me recently, his brother is a food critic for Tme Ot who reckons that this is THE best turkish restaurant in London. And he could easily be right. you may find yourself coughing quite alot if you sit in the part of the room between the drught and the grill, but you can lok forward to heavenly kebabs, beautiful and sweetly smokey bread, and that onion thing with the spicy pomegranate juice dressing. Mouthwatering stuff. Also they have some pretty good vegetarian selections, and of course tons of EFES! It’s not the cheapest place to eat, but certainly no expensive either, so come heartily recommended.

The original of a chain of three Turkish restaurants in Hackney, this is the best place to go for mouth-wateringly delicious Turkish food. If you don’t have the biggest of appetites, skip the entrees, as hard as this is to do. I love the haloumi and borek, but if I order it there is no room at all for the massive servings you get for mains. All mains come with bowls of salad, lovely warm flat bread and this amazing grilled onion dish that is impossible to make at home. The meals are massive and are all cooked on the big charcoal grill that dominates the entrance to the room. My boyfriend and I sometimes share a mixed grill. The shish is always perfect. I love the ribs in their delicious sauce. The quails are all lovely. There is lots of lovely Efes beer to wash everything down with. The décor in this restaurant is no-frills. If you want fancy plates visit Numara 19 near Hackney Central or the one further up the road in Stoke Newington. This is where the locals go!
