They have pretty decent coffee here though you can’t get filtered. The biggest thing they have going is they are affordable and they are everywhere! This is like the Starbucks of Europe!

Best espresso spot on London! Their perfectly roasted beans create the most smooth espresso with no bitterness. They also have great pastries and sandwiches. I always get a caramel double shot macchiatto. Try it, you won’t regret it :)

Great place to stop by in the mornings or for an afternoon pick me up! They’re quick with your orders and friendly too! There’s free wifi for those of you looking for a place to work or study. I love the giant glass windows that outlook onto the street.

After a relatively quick, but deeply disturbing, trip to Oslo this last week, a peek in at one of my favourite haunts outside of Paris of course at Kensington and Chelsea, seemed the right emotional ‘pic-me-up.’ When you’ve witnessed the aftermath of a cowardly mad-man’s choice of action in the hearts and eyes of normally calm and stoic people who still can not understandably fathom the amount of hatred it would take to be so inanely destructive and cruel to their once unshakable society it makes one relish the life one has when visualising the carefree ‘Flotsam and Jetsam’ going about their everyday business, while poignantly supping on a simple coffee on the streets of busy London. Tragic events and morbidity aside. I like to frequent this Caffe Nero whenever I am in this neck of the woods, that’s when it is not too busy which it generally is, because it is superb. With the added bonus of the extra large windows that frame the building and which open up, ushering in the warm Summer’s day. Along with the out door tables and chairs that get bathed in sunshine after a harsh Winter while watching the bustling, swarms of tourists and Londoners alike, weaving through the streets like ants, doing what they do. I have a great affiliation for the Caffe Nero chain and have since sworn my allegiance to all of them whenever I come across one forsaking all others mainly, because of their staff’s attitude to the clientèle. The coffee is excellent and the cheery staff will make it just the way you like it, no fuss, no hesitation. My belief is, if Nero’s could accommodate, even if you asked for a Cleopatra lookalike to deliver your libation to your table, they would. It’s Caffe Nero’s ethos the customer first and foremost. So, apart from the fact that the coffee and tremendously fresh foodstuffs are terrific, the biggest deal for me, is the friendliness of the ‘obviously’ hand-picked staff. No programmed coffee dispensers here. I have yet to go into a Caffe Nero and strike a ‘rude’ one. I think that politeness and friendliness must be a pre-requisite to being given a job with Nero. The staff truly take their work very seriously and if you are not happy with what has been poured, they oblige you another, no sweat. In other words, their customer skills are near to perfection. If you are a rather sociable person like myself, and enjoy a friendly, personable smile awaiting you with your coffee along with a light bit of banter Caffe Nero is the place. Whatever the management team are doing, they are doing it right. So few places these days give polite, caring service. Because of the intense population explosion everywhere, with standing room only, you get the impression in most places these days that they are doing you the favour, so drink up and shove off. It is wonderful to walk in somewhere and be made to feel special, like the comedy TV show Cheers where everyone gets on, everyone remembers your usual and the entire experience is one of joy even the daily newspapers on the wall for people to read something a little bit gentler and considerate to look forward to in today’s harsh world.

Gearing up for a long day of lectures, I decided to treat myself to a coffee and an almond pain au chocolat from my favourite coffee chain. This is the only branch I pass on my way in, so it’s the one I visited. Coffee as good as usual, and the pain au chocolate was lovely — something I’ll definitely try again. But the best thing about this caffe nero is the building. It looks really cool from the outside, a great big glass wedge that doesn’t seem connected to anything else. Sitting upstairs is fun — a pretty cool view and all. But on a day like today, if I’d had time to stop, I’d have probably grabbed a seat in the decent sized outside seating area — something that definitely gives this place an advantage over some of the other caffe nero’s I’ve visited. In the summer at least!

No different than any other Caffé Nero but it is in a really cool glass wedge of a building. If it’s not too packed, throwing down on one of their leather sofas with a view of bustling High Street for a hot bevy and a think is nice. Of course, that’s if it’s not too packed. Everybody and their rich mother seem to descend upon this part of town for shopping and people watching. I prefer this caffeine-peddlin’ chain to the others in London. Their coffee has a lot of flavour without tasting burnt like at some other coffee shops too. The few times I’ve been to this Kensington spot I found service to be okay but slammed. Still, I keep it in mind for when I’m in the area which invariably I will be sometime soon.

This is a modern café specialising in coffee on the lines of Starbucks and Café Nero, tucked away around the corner from High Street Kensington tube station. The café is basically a glass box, which makes the most of the narrow, triangular site by having an upstairs area and a small seating area outside. The coffee seems decent enough, if nothing outstanding these days, but it’s always busy. Downstairs is often rather noisy, but you can normally get a seat(and get some quiet) upstairs. They also serve chilled drinks and a range of snacks and pastries. Friendly and efficient staff.
