Worst Ramen in London guaranteed. Can’t even believe I just payed for that bland oily unauthentic bowl of disaster! Don’t eat in here because it looks ok on the outside and it’s in wholefoods. AVOID!!!

I have great memories of this place. Yes it is located in a Food Court, but a very spacious and bright food court and if you are lucky enough to get a seat on a stool by the window(I always ask for it), you might like it the same as it’s Soho Branch. They both have something different to offer which I appreciate. My favourite ramen is the new one with softshell crab which is so thick and salty but because of the fish stock, it just goes perfect with the taste of the sea. If I have a starter, I can never finish my ramen(even when in group) but I would still recommend getting soft buns or brussel sprouts(which are way more amazing than I though just from the sound of it).

This one is going to be short & sweet — another branch of the wonderful Bone Daddies located in Soho(check out my review — I called it the best ramen in town!). This branch is the same — quality of food & offering is outstanding. Venue itself is much else interesting or exciting as the Soho branch, as its location on top floor of Wholefoods. However, great to have one of these in this area. Also worth adding that personally I don’t really there’s a lot of good food options in High St Ken(without robbing the bank of course) so this is fabulous!

Really big fan of their ramen here, but on a 2nd visit with a friend their chicken ramen proved underwhelming, and their fried chicken buns were disappointing to say the least(a VERY far cry from Bao/Yum Bun). Come for the ramen(and preferably the tonkotsu one), and I’d recommend that’s about it!

Food was very tasty but service and atmosphere were lacking. The fact that it is located in the food court of whole foods is one thing, at least they could have put up some walls to give the place some atmosphere. Service was slow and unorganized. The ramen however was really delicious so I’d like to try out their over locations.

I have enjoyed afew meals here, this time we enjoyed some starters to share, tapas style. Soft shell crab was excellent, crispy, flavourful with a lovely dip. Kataki beef was very nice, if a little pricey for the 5 slices. Pork and truffle gyoza were very nice too and the salmon buns were excellent, I would prefer my salmon rarer but it was medium well anyway and I’m just fussy. Overall I found the starters well executed and interesting. Service was better this time too.

Ok ramen, broth was a tad oily. Eggs were done right though. Lots of ramen eating equipment a nice touch, hair bands, aprons/bibs garlick press. Went for the chicken wings as a starter, over done the sauce in my opinion — probably should have asked for that to be on the side

Nice service, but underwhelming ramen. Super salty and very low on chicken. Overall a decent meal, but for the price I would’ve expected more meat/larger portion in general.

My first take on ramen in London. I absolutely love ramen and I am fortunate to live in LA where they serve awesome ramen! Now back to bone daddies, I have to say that this was a really disappointing experience… 1. the ip tonkutsu was so salty it was almost inedible. I have never had such salty ramen in my life… Horrible 2. Same goes w the croquettes… Very salty 3. Carrot and ginger juice… Absolutely delicious! However for the price charged, I was hoping to get more juice than ice… Didn’t expect to see an iceberg floating in a sip of juice.

This place serves delicious starters and an excellent bowl of ramen. Sure it’s in a food court, but that didn’t affect the flavor of the broth and the service was great.

Need a second try there. I think I ordered the wrong thing from the menu and I will have to get back. I took a ramen dish with an egg(i don’t like eggs) though the menu clearly said this item has an egg, and I picked the hours long cooking marinated pork broth, well that was not really tasty to me. Maybe to others, but here I clearly did the mistake. On the bright side: plenty of space to sit, fast delivery, nice staff, and many other delicious otpions on the menu to try. I don’t think this could turn into a strong 4 stars place(we are in a food court after all) but it is worth a shot if in the area.

I go to Bone Daddies Soho often — I am pork-averse and they make an all chicken ramen which I really like. I tried the Kensington location and was very disappointed. The broth was cold, underseasoned, noodles were undercooked(very firm — esp when compared w Peter St. location), chicken was dry, the egg was sliced 80⁄20 and ice cold(instead of cut 50⁄50 so you had two delicious bites of yolky creaminess), and my chicken karaage arrived after having finished my ramen. Decided not to post a review because I like the Soho location and rather, send an email to management. Their reply completely ignored my negative experience, bar the broth which they said couldn’t have been underseasoned because(a) its made in a central kitchen, and(b) people in the past have complained of it being overly salty. I fail to see why(a) a central kitchen is more consistent than any other kitchen, and(b) why, if at some point it was deemed overly salty, why this time it couldn’t be undersalted? They ignored mentioning the noodles, shredded chicken, karaage, egg, and said I should have voiced my opinion at the time if I had an issue. I mean, yes, had I wanted to spend more time waiting, and complaining(which is not very enjoyable) I could’ve done so, but I thought a very considerate letter to the company was a very good alternative option(esp. because I was extremely complimentary towards the Soho location). I did not ask for anything and did not want a refund. The service was polite — but frankly — if your side dish comes after your main its a bit difficult to say it was up to par(I asked for the chicken at the same time as the ramen, not before, as I enjoy dipping it in the broth). Very very poor customer service from Bone Daddies HQ. It would’ve been extremely easy to just reply — oh you poor dear, I’m so glad you had a bad experience and will talk to our staff — I was sending it to them so they knew anyhow. The reviews are bad on Unilocal, and other sites so maybe listen to constructive criticism rather than be a dick about it. All said and done, I’ll still happily goto BD Soho because it’s very very good.

Stopped by here for a bite to eat before heading to the cinema. I’d been wanting to try bone daddies for ages as I love a good bowl of ramen. However, I was so disappointed with what I got. I ordered the standard tonkotsu with cock scratchings. The broth was bland and there was an oily taste that lingered after. The cock scratchings tasted like salty sand and when put onto my tonkotsu, tasted like wet, salty sand. My sister and I both left disappointed.

Ok, so best part is the charming and solicitous service disarmingly from two Italian waitresses! Granted the restaurant was not even a third full. I only ordered one dish, the Tantamen Ramen. My hopes were up when my waitress warned me that it was very spicy and was I sure I wanted to order it! Boy was I disappointed when within 2 minutes appeared a medium size bowl with a thick layer of reddish oil on top and a murky creamy broth underneath. Inside the bowl, 1 bok choy leaf, 1 small spinach leaf, some ground pork, 1 whole boiled egg sliced in two with slightly runny egg yolks and a small portion of noodles. Null points for presentation but as they say it is all about the taste. What a let down! First the soup tasted tepid warm, most unusual for ramen which should be served piping hot. Second the broth tasted like a thickened sickly peanut sauce. Don’t ever recall ever having anything remotely like that in Japan. Third and most disconcertingly it tasted bland; where was the promised spice! I suspect the peanut/sesame sauce/broth neutralized any attempt at spicing this dish up. To add insult to injury, I turned to the chili oil jar on the table to liven up the dish. It was bland too! Or maybe it just tasted bland since my mouth was still coated with broth! So all I ended up doing was adding oil to an already oily dish. Lastly, the ramen noodles were overcooked and unappetizing to eat as they had formed into a sticky blob and sunk to the bottom of the bowl. All in all this particular dish is a disaster and particularly poor value for £11.

The food was great, it was well done. The beer was served in a cold glass, which was watered down on the sides to stop bubbles escaping, so the bubbles ensured oxygenation of the taste experience and so a fuller flavour. The food had full flavours and was cooked to perfection and with great skill. However the restaurant area was understaffed, or one person was working and the other appeared to he but was not effective. The effort to get service undermined the experience and the atmosphere to such a degree, I may not bother or want to come back again. The front of house lady did all she could, but that did not reduce the suffering and frustration of the experience.

Not bad but not as good as I imagined. The ramen is ok, while the Korean chicken wing is a little bit weird but worth to try, coz you may hate it at the beginning but like it at the end. The Service is good and location is convenient.

Ok folks, at the time of my review here the ranking for the place sits at 3 stars. Let’s calm down — this is clearly a 4-star establishment, but happens to be in a food court… which we all knew before sitting down for a meal. Let’s not pretend that it’s a super-staffed stand-alone in the centre of Soho and rank on that basis. No, the service is not the fastest. And yes, the food is nearly the same as the Soho sister shop. And no, the ambiance will not impress you in any way, shape, or form. So with expectations properly established and judging food and the restaurant experience — meaning that which I would expect for being in a food court — this restaurant is solid. The ramen is fantastic, as it is at the primary shop, but potentially a bit more hastily prepared — 4.5 /5. The service is not great, but can’t fault it too much as it’s food court — 3.5 /5. The ambiance is GOOD for being in a food court — much better than if we had gone anywhere else on the floor — 4⁄5. Overall — 4⁄5. Enjoy the fact that good ramen has FINALLY come to the west side of London! And if you really love the ramen, take a break from criticising it on the basis of being in a food court so that it actually sticks around for a while.

I’ve been to the Bone Daddies in Soho and have to say that I prefer this one in Whole Foods as it’s more spacious, has better seating and the music isn’t blaring so loud as they have it at the Soho branch. It’s definitely more family friendly too I’d say. The Soho branch can get very busy especially in the evenings and you may need to wait outside. Not sure how busy the Whole Foods store gets as we came for lunch but if you have to wait, at least you’re not standing outside! It’s also great that the menu here is a mix of Bone Daddies and Flesh & Buns and includes hirata buns. I had the T22 chicken ramen which has a rich broth full of flavour. You also can’t go wrong with the tonkotsu ramen too. Would recommend this place.

Eating in a Whole Food Market is a very strange feeling. VERY strange indeed. In fact I find this whole«better food at department stores» concept quite discombobulating. On one hand– fab for a quick shopping pick-me-up lunch; on the other… dinner? not so much. And I think this is the problem with Bone Daddies. I very much liked the character and feel of the Peter Street store(and frankly they were miles above other ramen stalls in London when they opened) thus was happy to be more forgiving about some of the less appealing things about it– the fact that it is a fast food restaurant with a high price tag and the lack of consistency being two main things that I now find quite jarring after having been to ippudo London– where my bowl of noodle was SO consistent that it tasted *almost* exactly the same as the one I had in a ippudo in Japan(also they took posh ramen dining to a whole new level and we didn’t feel like we were in a canteen at all). Now, I wasn’t so keen on Flesh and Bun’s interior as I felt it was a bit soulless and unfortunately this Bone Daddies have gone with the same industrial feel. Nothing wrong with it, I just feel it’s soulless. This being soft opening night, I’ll forgive the service for being a bit patchy and slightly slow(this could also be because I just went to the pub and got a white wine with espresso instead of a white wine spritzer?!?). The food quality in general was really high– the pig bones, kimchee and soft shell crab were good; pickles selection, phenomenal; gyoza– forgettable and a bit mushy inside– a bit worried I now have piggie worms(probably being paranoid). However, I was left disappointed in the Ramen. The tonkotsu lacked umami. When I was eating it, I thought it just wasn’t salty enough and some soy sauce helped but I think what went wrong was that the stock was too gloopy and one dimensional. I mean totally their misfortune that I had a text book bowl of tonkotsu only a few days earlier but that’s the crux of the problem– with big and small size Japanese chains expanding to good ol’ London, Bone Daddies HAS to up their game. They’ve gone from quite possibly the best bowl of ramen to a pretty good bowl of ramen in town and there is much work to do to catch up. The sides are definitely there(and therefore 4 stars) but the soup?(with the soft soft noodles?) needs work matey. All ramen stalls in London are pretty much the same price so what’s keeping me coming to you instead of them(apart from the fact that High Street Ken is only 20 minutes walk away and quite possibly earning you some hang over points)? (3 stars for being in whole foods, 4 for the food)
