I really wanted to like this place but the service was awful. There were servers running around everywhere and yet they rarely checked in for our order or how the food was. After 2 hours we had soup and salad only to finally call it quits. Soup was good, salad was awful and not fresh. Atmosphere was great but just not worth it.

Bottom line it was the best filet mignon & fries we ever had. Best ambience we ever dined in. Most expensive too. I would fly back tomorrow if I could. A true dining experience!!!

Lovely room. Service was efficient if not super friendly. Somehow I was just a bit disappointed with the Sunday roasts. Pork was too fatty, crackling wasn’t fresh. Pork had a Yorkshire pudding and roast beef didn’t? I wanted to love it but for the price it fell short. Would be tempted back for a work breakfast or something like that.

Such a beautiful space, and an ideal location, right off of Oxford Street. Perfect for brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks in the centre of town. I was there for brunch with friends and the food was amazing. I went for the roast beef dinner(well, it was Sunday) and was thrilled with the food — pink, tender beef with a gargantuan Yorkshire pudding and loads of veg(including a sweet little pot of cauliflower cheese which was gorgeous!). Others at the table enjoyed salads, eggs & burgers and the reviews were all favourable. Some brave souls had room for puddings, which were beautifully presented and declared tasty and flavoursome. Service was very good throughout, except at the tailend where attracting attention to get the bill proved a little trying. Often the case in a busy restaurant, but would be vexing if you were in a rush.

On first entering there is a WOW factor like no other place I have been to or can remember in London. It’s a stunning main room. You don’t even have to eat there, but can perch yourself at the bar. Hazelnut waffles, berries and cream. One of those top 5 breakfasts in London you dream about quite frankly. Needs more maple syrup I feel which I asked for. Waiter very attentive and accommodating. Liked their green smoothie though very pricey! Eggs Benedict excellent but the décor and overall vibe is a triumph. This is a must visit place. I’d suggest brunch for daytime and go for a drink(love a whiskey sour) at the bar for nighttime.

What a lovely place to have lunch. The ambiance is absolutely divine. I couldn’t stop staring at the beautiful ceilings, ornate crown molding and interesting assortment of artwork on the walls. It wasn’t just the décor that impressed — lunch did as well. We had a green salad to share — which, was so beautiful and fresh with big crisp leaves(may not sound like much, but salads in London — even in top places — generally leave much to be desired). For a main, I had the artichoke risotto which was absolutely delicious. My husband went for the Mac n’ Cheese with oxtail which was fantastic — very rich and creamy and just exactly what you want from that sort of dish in Winter. They have a delicious assortment of ‘mocktails’, which are not overly sugary/sweet — great for any designated drivers or expecting ladies. Husband was very pleased with the wine selection. In short — a lovely meal in a great location — we will definitely be back again soon.

Such a picturesque setting. Beautifully laid out with amazing décor, you’ll be just starring around at the walls for hours. I came for an early pre-meeting breakfast. Went for the Eggs Benedict. It was truly amazing, probably one of the best I’ve had and came with the prefect coffee. I wish I had asked what blend it was.(Visit — 28/07/2015)

It is an impressive restaurant in terms of décor and atmosphere, the food is good but a bit pricey. Been for breakfast and dinner, dinner was worth repeating, breakfast, not really. This restaurant will certainly impress should you choose to dine.

Came here on a Wednesday night for a work dinner. The restaurant is located in the London Edition hotel. The dining room is absolutely breath taking. GQ wasn’t lying when they called this place a work of art. Hard to not just stare at the artwork covering the walls and the intricate detailing of the ceiling for hours instead of enjoying the company of your table. Swanky atmosphere. Filled with a classy and elegant after work crowd. Luxurious booths and beautiful wooden tables. We got there for 6pm. By 7:30pm all the tables were full. Cocktails were inventive and artfully presented. At least a few of the cocktails are cross-listed with the Clocktower’s cocktail list at the London Edition hotel in NYC. Crispy Moroccan lamb — almost a crème brûlée texture to the crisped outer layer of the lamb. Amazing flavors. Roasted Cornish cod — The fish was flaky and the risotto was flavorful. Flaming Alaska — not your typical baked Alaska. Chock full of crushed pistachios. The cherry sorbet itself had a slight medicinal taste to it, so I wasn’t a fan. But the table side preparation of flaming the meringue coated cherry sorbet almost makes up for the taste. It’s a nice little show to end your meal.

I travel a lot by myself and really appreciate when a restaurant makes a lone diners feel welcomed. I came here for a late lunch on a weekday and it was pretty crowded. When I checked in I said I could sit at the bar and was given the option of a table, which I appreciated. Service was great, food was pretty good(the chicken payard was great) and it’s such a pretty space you can’t help but feel like a million bucks. Definitely recommend.

I had the opportunity to eat dinner at your location in celebration of or 20th wedding anniversary. After confirming our reservation your hostess tried to sit me near the table near the kitchen. In America this is often where they try to sit Blacks near the shittyiest table in the restaurant. Of course I didn’t sit there! How dare you, you racist bastards! Sent from my iPhone 6

This is hands down the coolest restaurant experience I have ever had. The room is stunning and the food and drinks are just as stunning. Book a reservation ahead of time as this is a popular place. Just next door there are two bars to hang out in post dinner as well. The Baked Alaskan dessert is divine!

From the minute you walk in you feel the buzz of this stylish and grown-up trendy place. The size of a formal hall yet designed to have that intimate gentleman’s club taste to it, this type of place fits right into up and coming trendsetting Fitzrovia. A DJ is spinning music in the hotel lobby just outside, the low lit cool coloured lighting adds just an accent here and there to give a very modern slant on what is essentially a classic designed room filled with floor to ceiling oil paintings and plush seating. Nothing stuffy here, but it definitely gives off a certain Englishness’ to foreign visitors staying in the hotel while retaining a fresh edge. The bar is the the centerpiece with its bright lit glass shelving of showcasing every type of liquor bottle like a jewel. The bartenders are more of the mixologist types, adding just the right flair and perfect garnish to the cocktails of the professional crowd. This is an impressive place to drink, it has a lot of atmosphere and it feels like a proper night out. The restaurant has a modern continental menu filled with lots to tempt. Food was very good and the portions were hearty. While the noise factor did make it a bit difficult to talk, the vibe still lent itself to good conversation. Berners Tavern is a great place to go with friends and have a fun yet upmarket drinks and dinner. Definitely a place to check out.

Service was impeccable! Such a posh restaurant. Hawt Chocolate wasn’t a menu option & they went above and beyond made it for me anyway. Breakfast was served with a smiles… The Buttermilk Pancakes tasted like heaven; the bread was soft and not drenched in fatty oils. The décor is amazing. There are painted portraits in golden frames surrounding the room. This is a plus for me because I like art. The ceiling has detailed carvings in eggshell white. Its a nice breakfast eatery to make lasting memories. I will be back here in the future!

Upon walking in you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into a museum– high ceilings, exquisite architecture, and more paintings than you can count! It’s dimly lit and oozes elegance and class– far from what you would expect a tavern would be. Our group came in with no reservations on a Sunday evening for drinks and we were able to sit in the lounge area near the bar. We had a cozy corner with a great view of the beautiful bar. We ordered several drinks and they were not only amazing but the presentation of some were equally amazing. My drink was the aging hipster and it came served in a flask which you pour into your glass. We looked over the dessert menu and it looked intriguing so we ordered a few. The carrot cake was very different from your traditional«cake.» It had a more creative and innovative flair, yet the flavors were spot on. There was a mix up with one of our desserts but the waitress let us keep the dessert anyway and brought us out the right one. With regards to service, it was exceptional. We had two mix ups and the waitress was quick to fix it. I’m only rating it 4 stars because we didn’t experience dinner but it just means I’ll have to update it when I go back!

Tavern. As an American, the word evokes a dimly lit, cozy, low-ceilinged medieval hole-in-the-wall. For us, it’s broadly synonymous with«pub» and is encountered only in sword and sorcery novels. But the décor in this place is more fitting for royalty. Open spaces, cathedral-like ceilings, it was still warm and inviting. Despite having a reservation, they do a fair number of walk-ins. I was immediately drawn to the bar for a cocktail – and didn’t leave until I strolled home. The knowledgeable and incredibly friendly bartenders kept me fed and entertained the entire evening. The cocktails were phenomenal, and besides the great menu options I had a perfect Aviation. This place is worth visiting for the cocktails alone. But on to the meal… The lamb entrée was exquisite, a subtle interplay of flavors and textures. I went for the prawn cocktail, which was quite good though there were so many appetizers to choose from, one could make a meal of them. The chocolate tart? They had me at chocolate and it did deliver. A quality wine list with excellent by-the-glass selections allowed me to pair them with the meal quite nicely. A perfect experience overall. I’ll be back.

Connected to the Edition hotel, had one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in the UK. The space is beautiful and the bar looks amazing too. Very dramatic as you walk in from the hotel, the walls are covered with random pictures and the high ceiling is covered with intricate plaster castings. Service and staff were fast, friendly and efficient.

I can’t fault the location, food or service, so for that reason…5 big stars! I organised a Valentine’s breakfast here and before going on I sort of knew it would fully place me in the good books. After reading countless good reviews, I can now see what the hype is about. When you walk in the space is beautiful, a huge room with tall ceilings and every spare space on the walls is taken up with a lavish framed photograph or painting. Two extravagant chandeliers hang from the top and it really makes you feel pretty over whelmed. We had a great table, right next to the 10foot tall bar(no really) which was stocked to the brim with exclusive whiskeys, gins and vodkas. The menu for breakfast was vast, two main routes, sweet or savoury. The sweet contains gems like fresh toast, pancakes and honey covered oatmeal, and the savoury packing some serious punch with a full English, eggs of any kind and avocado on toast. Given I want nothing else before midday I was straight in with the avocado with the woman tucking into the French toast with bacon. For good measure we added some wholemeal toast and fresh jams in. Up first though, the coffees. One latte and one black, initially a strong bitter taste but then smooth and almost creamy blend, so so good. The food was soon behind, and with some excellent personal service, these amazing creations arrived. Huge portions that certainly lived up to everything I heard about this place. Soft sourdough with a peppery avocado crush sitting on top. And the size of that French toast opposite me was mind-blowing. I mean this thing you’d have to squeeze in a shoe box. The food was everything we wanted, amazing meal and made all the better with the surrounding and waiters. More than certainly be back here to give the dinner(and cocktail) menu a run but for now, if you want a high class brunch or just to splash a little wonga, throw it down here. Awesome.

My husband and I have gone to Berners Tavern for drinks before, but never for dinner. We were finally able to get reservations and we were excited. Food: We ordered the quail and the lobster and prawn cocktail for our appetisers. Both were very good, but the lobster and prawn cocktail definitely was the winner out of the two. For our mains, we both ordered the dover sole because we love it. The sole was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Drinks: We ordered the ‘Once Upon a Thyme’ cocktail which was dangerous because it was so yummy and one diet coke. Price: 125.88GBP for two people. Ambiance: The restaurant was bustling. It has a great energy and very lively. Service: The service was good, but very slow in the beginning. Would I go back? Yes, if we can get reservations again!
