Aqua Mediterranean Bar and Grill

We wanted to book this restaurant a year ago but never got a chance to go there since then… I went there today with very high expectations but have to say that I was a bit disappointed.
The food was good, though not exceptional. We waited about 15mn after being installed on our table to get the menus, and I had to call someone to get some attention. The two ladies that took care of us were very lovely in my view, but that was not shared by all of us…
Overall I would say that this was not my best restaurant experience, but I’m happy to give them another shot. The «50% on steak» Monday might be the occasion to do so! :)

Aqua has recently replaced Bella Vista Italian in Blackheath, so we decided to give it a try one Sunday evening.
The restaurant has been totally renovated, making it have a completely different feel to its predecessor. They’ve kept to the Italian theme, but added Greek and Turkish food resulting in a «Mediterranean» menu.
The service was a little slow, although the restaurant was quiet. We eventually did order some wine and our mains and starters. The mezze starter was good, but small considering the £14 (plus service) charge. Fortunately the stifado — a Greek beef casserole with rice — was tasty filling. My companion ordered mushroom ravioli, and said it was nice.
Whilst I won’t be rushing back to Aqua, as I think Tziganos a few doors down is a better Mediterranean restaurant, it was an overall positive experience.
