Situated near bottom of horse shoe pass and dating back to the 15th cent it shows little of this early age. Its supposedly a Theakstons pub but at time of visit none was evident and there was only one real ale on tap. On the plus side its a nice pub inside primarily pointed at hotel trade and passing tourists. Seats and tables bit uncomfortable. Service was very good. Food good quality and fair price. Lone beer on was Offas Dyke and was very well kept.

The Britannia Inn is a very friendly cosy pub and the best pub on the Horseshoe Pass. It has beautiful scenery surrounding it and there’s plenty of walks from the pub into the valley although one would probably suggest you walk from the valley to the pub! They have a superb range of real ales. They also have a good selection of vegetarian meals on menu. Prices are a little steep but you get what you pay for and you certainly won’t leave hungry. The pub itself is very large but comfortable and well looked after. The Britannia is undoubtedly worth a visit. Also has a beer garden so you can take in the views around you while you enjoy your drink or meal.
