Extremely large dishes– could easily share a meal! Great food excellent location it is a little pricey but you are paying for the view! Would recommend to get there before 6pm to nab a seat on the deck outside :)

Been to this pub a number of times. Its in a totally unique position overlooking the very beautiful river Dee. In fact its actually over the river Dee if you sit out on the balcony by the water wheel wonderful on a hot summers day. The pub sells a range of real ales and a good range of food but both whilst quality are a bit rich in price.

An absolutely amazing pub and definitely worth going to. The food is amazing, the view is awesome and the atmosphere is wonderful. We wouldn’t have found it if it wasn’t for Unilocal as it is down a tiny road near the river in an old Corn Mill. The food was so big and so tasty and was very affordable as well. I highly recommend going here even if you are just stopping off on a drive south like we were.

The Cornmill is a place where the locals eat… That is a good endorsement of any restaurant. The Menu is solid with something for everyone, and is perhaps a little more expensive than most Pub grub, but this is not your average pub restaurant. The food is of restaurant standard and cooked from scratch, nothing re-heated here! The portions are generous and served in reasonable time. Towards the weekends and during the summer months the restaurant does fill very quickly, so booking is a good idea, although I think they never fully book so you can take a chance, but after 8:00 on a Saturday you’ll have no chance of getting a table. This is not particularly children friendly, there are no child seats available and they don’t allow pushchairs in, but to be honest there is not much for the very young to do in the Cornmill. You can eat where you want, but the actual restaurant area is up the stairs on your left as you go in. There is a downstairs bar, with seating off to the right, and a large deck area at the back, and around the riverside side of the pub. It is part of the same chain as the Pant yr Ochian, decorated in the same eclectic style, and with much the same ethos and menu. I would recommend it to visitors and locals who appreciate good food.

caThe food at the Corn Mill is fabulous: large portions cooked and presented very well, at a price which, though not cheap, is par for the course. Add to this a stunning location and a wide selection of real ales, wines & spirits, and this could easily be a five-star gastropub. However, it’s let down by two-star service: our meal took 40 minutes to arrive, the serving staff seemed stresses & overworked, they forgot the cutlery, offered condiments to an adjacent table but not to us, and then charged us another table’s tab at the end of the evening. The Corn Mill is well worth a visit, but allow plenty of time & check the bill carefully!

The food here is _amazing_. Quite possibly the best I’ve had in the UK. And the setting is fantastic sitting right on the river with the old water wheel.

If this atmospheric, and utterly appealing, pub/restaurant isn’t situated in the most beautiful location in the UK, then please tell me what I’m missing. Go in the winter, and settle into one of the warm old-world spaces(with properly solid tables and chairs) with a decent pint of beer and a hot meal in front of you or, better still, in summer when the decking area outside, perched over the fast-running River Dee sweeping underneath, gives way to views of the ruined medieval Welsh castle(Castell Dinas Bran) looming mysteriously over the town. There’s even the original fully-operational water wheel running at the side of the pub(someone should convert it to produce electricity, and sell the excess back to the national grid) and for the kids(in season) views across river to an authentically steam-driven Thomas the Tank Engine chugging out of Llangollen station. The bar is friendly, service is quick, the food is lovely, the prices are more than reasonable. The management don’t know who the hell I am, and I haven’t got shares in the brewery. Frankly, it’s just perfect. And I didn’t even get to mention the ducks. ..

A fantastic pub restaurant serving quality fresh food. The setting is also wonderful on the river especially for the summer months. Definitely worth a visit.
