Had dinner here about 30 mins ago ! Been past this place on the way to Lark Lane loads of times. We always said we should try it. Well tonight we did. We stay at the premier inn Liverpool airport before our early flight to Malaga about 4 times a year, the hotel is great but the food is rubbish so we always go out. Tonights trip to the Gulshan was our first but will not be our last. The welcome was warm, we were asked if we wanted to go to the table straight away or take a beer at the bar. I much prefer the latter and check out the menu. The place its self is clean and modern but manages to retain a traditional feel. Its a big place I estimate maybe a hundred covers. The menu was a little varied but contained the usual suspects. Sharon did her usual ‘I might try something different then had butter chicken as usual. I had chicken madras which was very hot certainly at the top of the scale for madras. Matched up with rice, dhall and cheese naan. All were top class. Couple of drinks each and the bill came to 48 quid. I thought that was fair enough for the quality. We are back in Liverpool in November and I bet we will be back here.

Hi Mum, you’d like it here. They properly looked after us dad ate some lovely mild dishes, you know how he likes! The boys went for the spicier options and i had a mountain of great food! What is it about Indian food that stops me from being sensible with the portions! Highly recommend we go one night very soon! x

heard so many reviews about this restaurant, wasn’t impressed with the staff, the dishes were not impressive, RAJ traditonal indian restaurant in Woolton village is 5 times better than Gulshan. RAJ dishes you could taste the individual spices within each dish, Gulshan dishes were quite bland.

The Gulshan has been plying its trade as an establishment for quarter of a century. That takes some doing, and is a fantastic effort in its own right. It suggest many things to me tbut the one that really stands out is that 3they must knwo what they’re doing. To begin with their lamb tikkas are good. You maybe thinking wow Rana don’t get over excited. Well when it comes to Indian cuisine if Im saying«good» that is a big compliment coming from me. Shashlik is always a good bet as well, barbecued in an oven the marinated meat of choice will have a plethora of flavours absorbed into the meat giving it fantastic flavour. For those of you not really in the know when it comes to these neck of food woods. You should try their saag gosht with some nan bread, it’s no where near in the same league as mother’s cooking but is delicious none the less. I’m normally very harsh on Indian restaurants. However I’m not going to be critical here as the food is actually good. They deserve all the credit and kudos they can get, Gulshan have done well! I recommend thee Gulshan I commend thee.

This Indian restaurant is slightly out of town in South Liverpool which makes it a big hit with the locals rather than visitors or tourists. The food is absolutely delicious, one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Liverpool. I strongly recommend trying out the specials they have on offer — my favourites were the lamb shank and the black cod in tamarind sauce — delicious! There is a wide variety of meals available at a really high standard, nothing is skimped on. There is a lounge upstairs where you can have a drink before or after the meal, I’d strongly recommend popping in as it has a great atmosphere to really get you in the mood for a nice meal, or even before heading into town for a night out.

For me to be eating on Aigburth Road is pretty amazing. My folks had a small apartment here when they were Liverpool sweethearts, and what was once a run-down and tatty sort of area is fast becoming an upbeat, small business-laden district with its own distinctive flair. The Gulshan Indian is a great example of the kind of shabby chic places along this stretch close to Lark Lane, and it’s certainly a popular little restaurant. This is traditional Indian with a twist — the service is as pristine and efficient as you’d expect, and some of the dishes have interesting slants on them, such as black cod in tamarind sauce as opposed to your bog-standard tikkas and rogans. You can get a main meal downstairs, but if you’re in the mood for a relaxed nibble to accompany a drink, there’s a bar upstairs with Indian tapas on offer. How good an idea is that? I myself am a huge fan of small Indian bites with a beverage so this is darn near perfect as far as I’m concerned. Innovative, fresh, wholesome and friendly — you can’t go wrong with this little gem.

Heard so much about the Gulshan so arranged to go with some close friends to catch up on lots of gossip over a spicy curry(a perfect saturday night!!!) The place was quite busy so we were shown upstairs for drinks and given the menulovely décor and curteous staffwe placed our order and after about ½ an hour we were shown to our table. The food was very good(even though we had to ask for napkins & some cutlery) But totally spoilt by the manager scurrying around hurling instructions to the bevvy of young waiters, who were running aimlessly in all directions, fraught with anxiety, they hovered over us, whipping our plates away the minute we put our forks down & thrusting hot towels upon usso much for our leisurely chat & gossip! We felt we were now required to ask for the bill as our table was urgently needed for the next diners… We didnt realise The Gulshan was a fast food restaurant :(
