The best Indian food I’ve had outside of London or NYC(I’ve never been to India, hence no «outside of India» quote). Pretty cool that it’s around the corner from my aunts house. It’s pretty cheap too.

Fast and friendly with a wide range of meals to choose from. They even serve up English dishes, which is pretty handy when some of your party don’t fancy Indian food. Another great point about the restaurant is that you can take your own alcohol(they charge a small fee for corkage) as they aren’t a fully licensed restaurant. Nice! It isn’t particularly pretty from the outside, lots of pink offer signs on the outside, with a tasty lit up open sign. Inside is better, but it does all feel a bit wooden ikea like. But I really think it is the food that matters — always, always! In this department Café Sekander does not disappoint. The meal deals that they have on at the minute — lunch time and all you can eat buffet are really very good. They also offer a free local takeaway delivery service.

Are there two sweeter phrases in the English language than Indian Food and Bring Your Own Booze? If so I have yet to hear them. Now that I have firmly established myself as one of the leading sphisticates of the modern age, let me tell you that despite the terrible décor of this place, it is a pretty damn fine Indian restaurant. Given the opportunity to go out for a meal, my father would come here 8 of 10 ten times — the other 2 would probably be one of the Greek tavernas in town, very blokey choices I must say! However I don’t find sitting in here all that pleasant as it’s a bit neony — I know it’s not a word but it aptly describes the 80’s wine bar vibe of blue and green strip lighting throughout the place. But the food tastes freshly prepared and is full of flavour not just hot and spicy.
