Take 2

I have to disagree with a couple of these reviews! Firstly Take 2 is not patriated by old people and weirdos! I shop there and I’m 21! I would deny the weird part but that is really not for me to judge; I would like to think I am pretty normal. Secondly, I believe Take 2 does have connections to the Barnado’s charity, but I have to say it neither looks nor smells like a charity shop; the goods are new, and while frequently labelled damaged, this entails missing buttons, reparable zips and so forth. I bought a dress with a slight tearon the seam which was quickly stitched up by mother dearest: a £30 Topshop dress bagged and perfected for less than £4! Which brings me to my third contradiction: you WILL find high street brand names in here.
The main critique of the store is the limited range of sizes, and perhaps the sparse men’s section; in my opinion it would be better to remove it entirely and concentrate on the women’s section.
While the stock is not wholly remarkable, it does contain some great little bargains. It’s only small, very tiday and well organised so you won’t waste loads of time searching through; you’ll know [retty quickly whether you see anything, so pop in.

Is everything in here damaged?! All the labels are tarred with Damaged but with a low low price.
Fair play to the bargain hunters, you can get dresses with a couple of missing sequins for under a fiver, tops, skirts and shorts for £3.98…where do they get these figures from? Basically it’s like Primark except it’s damaged a couple of days before you take it home rather than a couple after.
Nothing in here really caught my eye, I think you really have to rummage to find the good stuff, but if you’re game then good luck to you!
If you want those high street names at bargain bin prices then Take 2 gives you and those poor cast-​off clothes a second chance.

Ladies! This is your Mecca! Cheap clothes with their branded labels cut out at 50% of their retail price or less? Yes that’s right!
Gent’s, same to you, although their men’s section takes up about 10% of the total shop space, and all the clothes in this section seem to be large or extra large. Take 2. Start catering for small people too please!
From Dorothy Perkins and Topshop, through to Per Una and other upmarket brands, this place has a wealth of stock and really does sell bargains. I’ve never found anything that fits but I remember being dragged around this shop for hours by my ex, and she managed to find plenty of bargains.
The prices are so low, it’s amazing to think of how much profit the original retailers must mark up on these sweatshop garments! Definitely worth a look though if you like a bargain!

I am not really sure what to make of Take 2 apart from the fact that it seems a bit lost in its own fashion world. If you’ve not passed by before, Take 2 is a small clothes shop in Bold Street that appears to attract more of the older generation — mainly women.
One thing for sure is that you definitely won’t find any high street fashion names here but you will find bargains galore. Quality wise is not the best; it doesn’t take a genius to realise that, given the impression it comes across as. However, if it’s a simple item of clothing you need that you’re going to wear at home for instance, who cares? It might turn out to be you’re lucky day with smiles all around.

Seriously, am I the first to review this place? Have others just walked in and thought I’m not putting my name anywhere near this? Come on, haven’t we all had a peak at the old ladies and weirdos going in and thought it must be worth a gander?
I went in and I’m still not sure what it is except maybe some sort of fashion purgatory. It’s not a charity shop, I think, although it has that sort of feel — and smell, definite charity shop mustiness to it. Most of the labels have been ripped out so I think that it is a clothing reject shop, but from what was left of the labels they weren’t big brands to begin with so basically it’s like a poor man’s TK Maxx.
Having said all of this I clearly had a good look round! I did, I started thinking, you know for £3.98 you could get away with that, maybe just for work. Damaged? Damaged where? nah that’s a bargain for under £4.
