Another place students go to get their daily intake of carbs is Inspired Food.
Based on Smithdown Road, it’s a small café and take-​away run by friendly staff that are prone to teasing their regulars. The décor is simple, the food fresh and they sell cheap and cheerful snacks, breakfast and lunch. Alongside a myriad of diffeent rolls, wraps and baguettes, there’s salads, soups, jacket potatoes and pastas. They also have different daily specials from lasagne and chilli con carne to steaming hot curries.

Inspired Food is a handy place to get a sandwich made up with the added bonus that it isn’t one of those horribly pristine kind of fry caverns. You know the ones– Chicken Bazooka, Hot ‘n’ Tender, Chesters– places that have all the warmth of a sinister laboratory after work hours.
This has the character-​driven affability of a truck stop but with much better food. Customers who all know each other will enter, get their usual orders and sit chewing on it and jokingly mocking their mate behind the counter. Then when they leave everyone else will make a comment about them before retuning to graze. It’s a good place to people-​watch. At least, until you get your order. After that you just become a weirdo staring at strangers and will probably be asked to leave.

This is a decent little takeaway and offers plenty of choice to eat in or out for your breakfast or lunch. This place offers burgers, rolls, burger meals, loads of sandwiches, a selection of breakfasts and breakfast barms, a great range of pastas and salads and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
What more could you want? It’s convenient for students etc as its located band on the middle of Smithdown Road, and it’s always busy so the food is guaranteed to be fresh. I got myself a coronation chicken sandwich and it was delicious, the sauce was just right and not too creamy as it is in some places that I’ve scoffed in. I think it cost just under £2.00 which is a bargain for a fresh sandwich.
Therefore I decree that I would fully recommend this little takeaway to anybody who likes to eat!

Well, I guess they could be inspired, or they could simply be confused? There is certainly a wide variety of food types here – not your average takeaway as Helen has said.
But mmmm, tasty sandwiches. I love places with bread choices. I’m not big on white bread, so it’s so nice to be able to chose something that actually has taste and texture to it. And the choices for sandwich toppings and fillings is great as well. Much better than places like Sayers or Greigs.
Prices are decent, and staff are friendly. So if you’re hungry, why not be. .. inspired?

Hungry but feeling picky? Inspired Food should have something to cater for your luncheon needs. Seriously wide selection of food from large rolls with several thousand (slight exaggeration!) sandwich fillings, Full English to Halal Breakfasts, burgers, curry, hot dogs etc. Just a generally good take out. Friendly staff here and my friend always tries to sneak her food in to Kelly’s pub over the road.
Did I mention they have cans of Rio here? I don’t know how I haven’t come across it before, but I purchased my first one here. Tropical heaven in a can.
